Went to see this over the holiday weekend.

I thought it was really great, but not quite up to par with Wes Anderson's other movies (Rushmore, Royal Tennenbaums).

It's still good though. Check it out.

I loved this movie.

...but even this great movie cannot make me like the steaming pile of crap which was The Royal Tennenbaums.

Looks real dumb, probably will never see this in my life... :/

Bill Murray is funny.

The Royal Tennebaums is frighteningly bad.

duckmoose will probably never see "The Life Aquatic."

In conclusion: Bill Murray needs to find better producers to work under.

TBH I thought this movie was shit and served little purpose what so ever. It did have it's moments however and everytime Cate Blanchett was on the screen I found myself drooling at how much sexier she looked in this movie than normal, but on the whole very little made sense and the CG was awful (presumably intentionally).

You're in to preggos, eh? Weirdo.

Anyhoo...what do you mean by "served little purpose"? Since when are movies supposed to serve any purpose other than entertainment?

I meant she looked more attractive (i.e. in the face), but yeah, pregnant women do have a natural glow to them too.

It didn't entertain me, therefore served no purpose! and the whole premise to the movie was rediculous. Mans friend is eaten by made-up-shark, man goes off to sea with pretend-son, etc.

So what's your idea of a good premise? A bunch of midgets and a wizard travel across a fairy tale land to drop a ring into a volcano?

"i see what you are saying.......but i sink you misjudge za guy."

I saw it last night, I thought it was pretty funny. It was interesting to see William Dafoe in that movie after just seeing him a couple days ago in Clear and Present Danger, not exactly similar roles heh.

Yeah...Willem Dafoe plays a lot of very different characters...and you think of him as a serious actor, so it's extra funny when he's in a comedic role.

Son of a Bitch, I'm sick of these ****ing Dolphins.

Didnt like this movie, thought it would be okay but after watching it I was wrong. They say its for "intelligent moviegoers" but really I just dont like it :hmph:

I saw this at the Galleria which is the most strict theatre when it comes to kids and rated R movies, i thought life aquatic was PG-13, me and my friend go and buy the tickets with no problem at all! And we didnt know it was rated R until we saw the topless chick and they said the 3rd F word, then we were really surprised we were able to get in. This movie was unbelievable though, i was laughing so hard, and i almost cried too, and a movie that does both, makes you laugh cry and hang on to the edge of your seat is perfect. Bill Murray is amazing and I was surprised to see that this movie was an original plot made by wes, its not a book or anything I was impressed, the movie is ingenious. I want to see it again. Just a great movie.
