Revolutions should be really nice too.

I really need to rent it cause I sort of got lost in the story after the rave scene.

Well I was probably the only guy there who watched the original Matrix 7 times. And I didn't really get the story. Other people were going like "the hell?"

i watched the original 3 times a day for a week b4 reloaded came out. and only one part confused me

SPOILERZ!!@#QW!@!!!!!! ended

Yeah I thought the talk with the architect was suppose to be one of those "oh I get it now moments". Instead it was exactly the opposite.

yep... u hit the nail on the head there.
hopefully more crap that WILL make one of those "oh I get it" moments trigger will be in revelutions

im so buying this ****ing shit. Also a froujda capable 1080i dvd player with it just so it'll own the f'ing day.

I hate the sequel. THe first Matric had this cool mysterious feeling about it, but the sequel ruined it because it had this star trek meets the Matrix feel to it. There's no way the sequel could have been as cool as the ogirinal for me. And the sequel didn't make any sense after a certain point, not to mention the whole rave scene that was pretty lame to say the least.

quoting LoneDeranger

"Yeah I thought the talk with the architect was suppose to be one of those "oh I get it now moments". Instead it was exactly the opposite."

yea, wtf, that part confused the living fcuk out of me, if I wasn't already confused before. And I understood the original the first time I saw it.

Ok, basically, I hated the sequel, and one of my freinds fell asleep during it. ANother funny thing is that one of my friends that hated the original and then saw the sequel with me went back and watched the original and then "realized" the original was very good in comparison to the sequel.

Frankly, if you don't understand the plot of the Matrix the first time you see it, there is something wrong with you. Its a pretty simple concept and the movie's aim is not to confuse at all.

Anyway, I really liked Reloaded (especially the architect scene, it was one of my favorite scenes in the movie) and I'm definitely getting it on Tuesday. Looks like it will have some bad-ass "making-of" features too.

Oh, and I didn't understand the big hoopla about the rave...it wasn't even that long, the movies could've done without it but it wasn't absolutely crazy or anything.

I'm definitly planning on buying it too.
And the Architect scene was both a "oh I get it" scene, and the opposite. What he reveals about the matrix turns everything on its head, but he throws out a ton more questions that will have to answered in Revolutions.

ah
i had it in my hands yesterday at the store buy they can only sell it on tuesday :(

good page... but how did agent smith come back??? thats the only thing that confused me

Agent Smith chose exile over deletion, like the Oracle said.
He's no longer an agent (thus no more earpiece), and is only concerned with destroying the system so he can be free. It seems that a program must choose to go back into the source, because otherwise it will be hunted so it can be eliminated.

heh ... i could not wait to get the DVD after i came out of the cinema so i waited a while and law and behold, there was a DVD screener out. VERY good quality too so i downloaded that so i could have it before 97% of the earth`s population ;) BUT there is no special features, so i will rent it :)

I'm a perfectionist...I need the Uber quality that only a real DVD will provide.

I might buy it on video soon, depends.. I'm running out of money :p

I liked the film a lot, but it wasn't the best :D

Oh trust me... what i downloaded was über quality. Take my word for it. :) But then again. I'm an asshole for downloading it. Although... i went to the cinema 3 times to see it just to get what the architect said. ;)

Please don't talk about downloading stuff here :) Tis illegal don't ya know :p

Anyway... It's not my favourite movie, yet it's still worth my money... just like the Two Towers

No i mean i bought this on DVD last friday.

Yup. Just realized i was balancing on the rim of acceptable behavior there. I stand corrected ;)

|CC|Hudson:

Thank you for the link. Highly informative read.

I love movies where the plots get really complicated, like in the Matrix reloaded, and there are all of these wierd things happening that confuse you and make you wonder about what it all means. Matrix Reloaded was my favorite movie of the year. (gotta love that cliffhanger ending).

P.S. - anyone who has bought two towers got jipped, since the extended, uber-1337 version comes out in november.

Meh, the movie's long enough as it is. And it isn't good enough to warrant large spending.

In my opinion, the Two Towers and Reloaded were both worse than their oriignals for a simple reason: way more action in both, and much less plot and character development (and dialouge in general). They were both great movies, just not as good as the originals.

like in all trilogies... the 3rd one will spank ur momma!! .......... or sumthing like that

I also got the dvd legually on friday, In america it's released later for some reason.

If you are saying there wasn't enough character development in Two Towers, you must of fallen asleep.

Well, OK the thing is with Two Towers, while the second movie was probably worse, it wasn't such a drastic difference as with Matrix and Reloaded.

Obviously the reason is that LOTR movies follow the story from the books so you can't really go wrong. The Wachowski's, on the other hand, are making up the sotry themselves as they go.

Compared to the first movie.

stop talking about LOTR and talk about Matrix ;-) lol lotr is cool but Matrix kicks ass :) I watched all the fight scenes in Matrix 1 and reloaded frame by frame ;-)

What about the architect scene did you guys not understand? I thought I got it with there being a cntiunous cycle of versions of the matrix with the eventual creation of an anomoly (Neo) who must in s sense reset the system and create the new version of the matrix.

The Matrix Reloaded was quite possible the most overhyped, overly long, poorly written, over-reliant on redundant fight scenes, unnecessary sequel I have ever seen.

The Matrix was great, a classic. I didnt need a sequel. At least not one that pissed all over everything that made the first one great.

I do feel Revolutions will be better than Reloaded. But then, I must ask the question: why not cut out the hour of useless shit from Reloaded, and the useless time fillers bound to appear in Revolutions, and just make one sequel much tighter in focus. The answer is probably simply that trilogies are the cats meow nowadays.

Reloaded is an ace film! It's got a lot in there and the analysis is half the fun. People may dismiss it as dribble but it's actually based on a lot of different texts.
But then, I must ask the question: why not cut out the hour of useless shit from Reloaded,
This EXPLAINS the matrix, it explains many meanings such as how everything works, the inefficencly of perfect maths equations in the real world. Watch the film a few more times and think about what every program says.
over-reliant on redundant fight scenes
Okay explain the council meeting, explain the whole zion sequence.

You seem to have some good objections but they are flawed. You say you don't like all the fighting and would like more let's say talking scenes. However when you get to the talking scene's you say it should have been cut. What did you want them to talk about? The current stock situation? What colour is the sky? Whats for dinner?
I'm not gonna bitch any more, Yes Reloaded is a bit diverse from the original and may from first appearances seem useless but read into it and it's filled with loads of stuff to think about.

The bear: It seems that the matrix has been created 6 times and that on the sixth time Neo is a very different person, he reasons more with one thought. Trinity. Thus why every program is basically saying "You haven't figured it out yet?" And why the Oracle is so intrigued about Neo's dream "Does she die?"
The choice as the key feature with the oracle and the architect is that Neo has chosen to fall in love and that affects every other decision he makes.
Quite simply there is just a huge load to analyze and it won't be all clear to revolutions.
