The Matrix Reloaded, buy it tuesday on DVD

Something I found interesting is that the Architect's choice is ripped directly from Tibetan Buddhism's view of Nirvana. (Either end it or start the cycle over again.
Oh, and as far as I know The Matrix was originally conceived as a trilogy (or at least a part of a longer story), so maybe you just saw it as something it wasnt.

People may dismiss it as dribble

I can definately see why. That psycho babble trying to sound more deep than it actually is becomes quite annoying.

you don't like all the fighting and would like more let's say talking scenes.

Actually I never said I wanted less action and more of that shoddy dialogue. I wanted less of both. This could have been a much tighter film had WB made the W Bros. edit 30-45 mins out of it. The Zion, and its necessity can be debated. The reason why it had to continue for 15 minutes I do not think can.

However when you get to the talking scene's you say it should have been cut. What did you want them to talk about? The current stock situation? What colour is the sky? Whats for dinner?
[/B]

See above. Id probably have really liked this movie if it were cut down to around 100 mins. There simply was too much style and fluff and not enough substance. I mean:
-Link and his Girlfriend/Wife/whatever: Who cares?
-Neo and his Debate/intellectual dicussion about humanity's reliance on machines with the council memeber: Who cares?
- Morpheus' Speech/Party-Orgy Scene: They could've done this in a far less exploitive MTV spring break way. It wasnt necessary to have 20 minutes worth of dance footage in the middle of this movie, yes it makes sense, people will party hard when they're in that much foreboding danger, but why stylize it? Make it as primal and as hapless as it should be.
- Neo Vs. The Oracle's Body Guard: The films only completely superfluous fight scene. Why? What does it prove? He likes to fight?
- The Trinity/Neo Sex Scene: I can't imagine that anyone wanted to see a wrinkly Carrie Ann with Keanu "I Know Kung-Fu" Reaves.

Anyways, to each their own. Agree to disagree?

The sex scene and party are both the same scene, and its only like 5 minutes.
The fight scene with the Oracle's guard can't be more than 2 or three either.
And its the character's (Link included) relationships that give the movie some soul. I thought the scene with the council member was exceptional, it had me thinking for days.

I am a huge fan of The Matrix and I was hoping that they wouldnt suck up the next two movies, but i have to say the second falls way short from the first. All the second one has is some cool " scene's" but it lacks in the rest of the movie.

I hate it when directors give " what the ppl want to see" crap, the reason ppl liked the first one was because we when Neo was in his room up really late music playing knowing you should go to sleep because you have to wake up early. People can relate to that, the second one just gave crazy special fx and didnt have that special thing that pulls us in. What they needed to do was not give us what they think we want, but stick to what they were doing in the first and dont try so hard.

I am a huge fan and will buy it on tuesday, But they missed there mark with reloaded. Hope revolutions hits its mark.

Reloaded was crap compared to its prequel (i.e. why does Neo have to fight the Chinese dude to see the Oracle all of a sudden? He didn't have to bust that bald kid up in The Matrix to see her, now did he?), no doubt about that. But judging from the trailer of Revolutions the Wachowski brothers seem to make up for it. It certainly seems as if it has more of a story than Reloaded, which would be likely since Reloaded is a bridge metween The Matrix and Revolutions.

I just hope that Resolutions answers all the questions that the first two films asked. Convincingly.

It's a bridge between The Matrix and the Matrix: Revulutions! thats what reloaded is. thank you Saltpeter

I thought I'd throw in that the reason the Oracle is all of a sudden so paranoid about seeing someone is that she's now on the run. The Matrix is after her, and the Merovingian says that they're coming for her.
The fight with the guard also serves to show that there are stranger entities in the Matrix than we've seen before. The guardian can match Neo move for move despite being a program, while the Agents can barely spit at him.

You're welcome.

i got the film last night (monday 13th in aus), it came in early to my shop!

me so happy :cheese:

What do you guys think of the new oracle (for revolutions)? I think they probably should've just left her out (much like Tank in reloaded) rather than replace her with someone that looks completely different....

well, the old oracle died... so they needed a new idea... there is sum excuse that the merovingian caught her, so she escaped and changed her program shell so he couldn't finde her or sumthing like that

Cant say I was too impressed with reloaded, but I just bought the DVD today. It's better than I remember it actually and the wachowski's do actually add some half decent special features... ooh, and you can skip through all the shit! ahh dvd!!

W00h! Going to go get my copy of Reloaded and Max Payne 2!!

Most dissapointing sequel ever :(

The fighting was good - the rest was pseudo intellectual nonsense that ruined anotherwise great action movie.

Could Neo be a more boring leading character??

The french guy was funny tho :)

(the original is one of my fave movies btw)
