The Most Disappointing Moments in Games (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

I think the most disappointing moment for me was playing through Metroid Prime like if I was being forced to. That game sucked so much I just wanted to pass it to get it over with. The least fun I've ever had in a game by far.

Starcraft Brood War: Mengsk not getting plunged several layers into the Earth's crust for his wrong-doings. Here's hoping Starcraft 2 makes up for it.

Dagoth Ur.

A crazy, half-naked gray guy with a sunflower on his face.

Wait, this is the final boss?

The ending to Half-Life 2 was abrupt.

Then a dev said that Episode I would, "reveal more about the G-man". Of course it didn't reveal anything more than was stated in all the previews.

2. Finding out after finishing the game that I can guide missiles with the launcher laser. (Not the game's fault).

I figured that out when I launched a rocket, then looked at my feet because I thought I saw a healthpack.

So true. I was pretty annoyed, because they said the same about Breen's fate. I wonder if they meant the actual trilogy now, rather than ep1? It was mentioned in so many interviews. :-/

PES 6 for 360 was nothing compared to the PC version. You were stuck with unlockable players no one had heard off, the multiplayer is so god damn laggy it could generate enough rage to make someone wanna kill babies, you cant register players into other teams to keep up with transfers, some of the players stats are ridiculously inaccurate AND you cant use your master league team in multiplayer matches.

Call of Duty 3 was so shallow and tedious I couldn't bare playing beyond the half way marker, the tank missions have got to be the worst simulator I have ever seen. No comparison to the first two.

Half-Life2 - 1. Waiting for Alyx to find me in Nova Prospekt while I'm busy getting my head blown off by thousands of Combine soldiers.
2. Finding out after finishing the game that I can guide missiles with the launcher laser. (Not the game's fault).

Sooo...you got past all those gunships and striders simply by dumb-firing missiles at them? Impressive. I commend your patience.

Seconded. I only hope they come through with EP2. Judging by the trailers, more info about the G-Man seems a certainty. But Breen? I hope he's not dead. But if he isn't, I hope they didn't turn him into an effing slug.

Thing is, they're saying it again. But this time I believe them more because the Screenshots evidence is too powerful.

The end of System Shock 2.. You go through the entire game, your character doesn't say a word, everything going fine, then in the cutscene when your about to kill SHODAN she says something along the lines of "Join me!" with this huge speech, then your character just says "nah... *shoots SHODAN*". Then thats the end..

Entire game = really good
Ending = GAY.

Oh yeah, Ending for KOTOR II. Wtf was with that. So lame.

AHHHHHHHHH CROTCH, FOTCH FETCH FLIPPING FREAK.

I just downloaded thief 3 instead of thief 1.

BLAH! THAT TOOK SO LONG ><

Didn't the final screen for the original Quake simply have a text message con gratulating for winning or something like that?

Oh yeah I forgot about KOTOR II the plot was just awful and made no sense :|

WoW - Illidan, arguably the second most significant character of WC3 and TFT, is killed by Maiev Shadowsong. She was a crazy, unlikeable, throwaway character and should have just died in agony while hunting for him. His demise was also lacking connections to other characters that were important in his development (ie. Tyrande and Malfurion). Also, learning that Prince Kael'thas went crazy as a bullshit excuse for you to fight him. It's like Blizzard's entire approach to lore in BC was shitting in a bucket and finger-painting over the rich tapestry they had built up until that point.

I agree with you 100%, I feel so disappointed at this.

I also find it semi-silly how these uber "I can take on the whole ****ing world" kind of characters in Warcraft 3 are going to be killed by 25 people over and over and over in the name of epic loot.

...Oh well.

One-Thousand-Billion times better than KOTOR 1's. :|

Eh, both plots were about equal, though KOTOR I had a nice plot twist. But the way the damn ending of KOTOR II was carried out... blarg. Disgusting. "Darth Nihilus", the famed most evil jedi of this time, blah blah blah, difficult to beat... ended up as 'slash slash slash CUTSCENE slash slash slash DEAD'.

Wtf.

And let's not even talk about Kreia and Sion. I had more fun slaughtering the shitty sith commandoes and dark jedi in the temple.

Yeah the plot wasn't the problem I had with the ending of KOTOR2, it's how they carried out the ending that I disliked.

Ending of Halo 2. Ending of HL2. Most of KOTOR2. The hell and last levels of Doom 3, it had gotten way to stale by then.

Enter The Matrix easily goes for one of my most wasted investments. ****ing bastard child of a game. Gun valkyrie after 4 levels

The hell level in doom 3 was awesome, after the boring mars labs finally something fun

Halo 2 ending: It's like when you watch a movie, something dramatic happens near the end then it says "to be continued". Except they tried to make it more cool with Master Chief, but no...

Half Life 2 ending: WTF that's it? Where the **** are you going Gman? GET BACK HERE YOU ASSHOLE.

Metal Gear Solid 2: near the end, you find out that the main villains are call "Lu Li La Lo La Lu Li Lu Le Linkin Lankin"

Metal Gear Solid 2: Rose keep calling you bitching about why Raiden can't spend a time with her and all sorts of domestic shits. you are on a ****ing mission risking your life while your girlfriend keep calling you on a codec bitching about all sorts of thing. I admire Raiden for not losing his mental condition after dealing with that.

Halo - Library level

God of War - Hades level

Jak II & III - All round horrible frustrating game play

MGS3 - Predictable uninteresting story, uninteresting bosses especially story wise, lack of radar. Overall boring game play that rewards just shooting your way trough( either rambo style or sneak and head shots) instead of avoiding violence, levels lacking any thoughtful game play.

Hl2 - The already mentioned criticism of the story.

FFXII - when I realized that 90% of the game play is just grind trough maze like cheap level design that needs no input from me because of the gambits system. Lack of story and character development. What is there of the story and dialog is of much higher quality then previous FF's, it's just too little.

I must be the only human being on Earth who liked playing as Raiden. Or at least, had no problem with it. Apologies but give a shit I did not.

Oh dear god. Raiden really, really, REALLY annoyed me, it was a chore to play as him, it really was. Snakes mission was exellent, but hated the mission with Raiden.

It seems to me the main problem players had was actually with Rose. I wouldn't know, I didn't give her conversations the time of day, but Rose was a pretty hated figure and I just assumed people merged this problem with Raiden. Raiden's chapter had better gameplay and he was more versatile than Snake. And Snake looked pretty badass from the other perspective.

I have two grudges against Raiden.

1) He was simply an annoying character. If you followed the story and answered all your codec calls, you would actually see something as incredulous as Raiden getting bitch-whipped by his girlfriend in the middle of a world-saving espionage mission. He was naive, whiny, and saddled with heaps and heaps of awkward dialogue. He may have technically been more powerful/versatile than Snake in terms of in-game mechanics. But Snake had character that went a lot further (although I'm no fan of his perpetual gruffness). It probably helps that the tanker was a far more interesting environment to play in than Big Shell.

2) I don't like wasting $50 to be toyed with in some overrated game designer's experiment. I picked up the game expecting to be Snake for most of its duration. Upon learning that Raiden was to remain, I felt cheated. This goes in conjunction with a lot of the other stupid stuff in the game, like the increasingly horrendous plot towards the end, the "you're in a game" self-references, and so forth. Kojima just teased you with Snake and then dropped him off the face of the Earth to make his grand, elaborate, poorly-written point... at the expense of the audience.

So that's why I don't like Raiden. In many ways, he signifies everything that was wrong with the game. :|

I only forgave the rose character because the apanese voice actress also did the voice of belldandy :p

Even I don't like the library level!

The Library is a pretty good level for coop.

SP? Monotonous garbage.

Gunstar Heroes gets new game! :D
