The most insanely overpriced limited edition for a game ever??

I saw that backpack and thought it was some sort of vest and got really excited.

Then I realized what it was.

I look forward to Crysis 2, but certainly will not shell out for this.
 
Overpriced is the wrong word.. I mean, all that stuff plus the game seems a fair package for that much.
 
Look, the way I see it, if you're going to buy a game, there's no need for all of these "exclusive" items that you'll end up putting somewhere on a shelf or in a closet where they will eventually collect dust. I've heard so many stories from people complaining about the items they got from an exclusive edition of a game being bad. The game is the main thing in a purchase, the other things are just additional tidbits that you pay extra money for. In this case, if the game itself costs around $50.00 when it first comes out, you'll be paying four times that amount.

But, uh... that backpack caught my attention slightly.
 
my favorite Collectors Edition was this and it was like an extra $20...

Never heard of "collecting things" I take it? These box sets are not for people like you. They're for collectors.

Also, the backpack is the worst part of it. You should be ashamed.

That looks nice, sadly I really don't have the space to support buying new SEs/LEs etc, otherwise I totally would(given that I easily have enough cash thanks to not having any bad habits, i.e. women.)
 
I only bought a limited edition of a game once, and it was the only copy of the game they had and it was $30. I think it just came with an extra car and a 'making of' DVD.

I think L.E. games are stupid. They go through a lot of trouble designing these items and barely make any of them. Seems like it would be more profitable to sell the 'special book' and other collectibles alongside the game. Of course, the reason they don't make very many of them, is because nobody wants them, except for a small group of people that have too much money and not enough things to buy. That's not an insult.

I'll admit that's a nice LE, my fav personally is AC2 black edition tho :)

love the the ezio figurine with it :LOL:
 
No one has commented yet on that fact that paying the $200 gets you higher levels and more items in the game itself? For the physical stuff you get it doesn't really seem that overpriced. I know I would have loved one of those Polish S.T.A.L.K.E.R. collectors' editions that came with medkits and gas masks.
 
I was thinking to myself that it isn't that bad since the game would cost $120 retail here, anyway.

Then I realised how overpriced here is to begin with.

True altho it may just be early unlocks rather than exclusive stuff. Unfortunately early MP bonuses isn't anew thing anymore. Just look at the paid kit shortcuts in BC2 :(

does crisys 2 will have that stuff of generated buildings interiors that was shown in some videos some time ago?

where everybuilding will have a accesible interior?
 
One would think, if you were willing to shell out for the PS3 version of this, your money might be better served in "collecting" a PC.

The price seems to be as overblown as the game will be.
 
The price isn't overblown, the package itself is. The price fits it.
 
Only by the already overpriced standards for that kind of thing. They're all overpriced, this just contains more overpriced shit.
 
I would probably shell out too much money for a collectors edition of a Half-Life or Portal game that included a prop/statue of some sort.

Also curious if there will be a special edition of Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Ha, thats a pretty good one.

I've bought special editions for two games in the past: The Elder Scroll IV: Oblivion (Great behind-the-scenes, along with a lore book, map, and coin from Tamriel), and the Halo 3: Legendary Edition (Embarrassed to admit it, but I dont regret it).
 
The only Limited/Collector/etc. edition I've ever bought was for Mass Effect 2. It was only 1 or 2 BD($3 or $6) more than the regular edition in my country, had cover art that doesn't suck ass, and all the extra stuff was neat if not necessary.
