CANT WAIT 'TILL TOMORROW ! , this game looks totally awesome. ill make a movie starring HL2.net memebers :p. :bounce:

P.S we should have a forum or a sticky thread so people can post thier movies in it :D

Well, I can't wait til people start releasing their own scene/model packs, then IT'LL get really good, and their own new animations..
I know there's quite a bit in the game but it'll still become tons of movies using the same identical animations over and over considering the amount of people that'll probably get it.:\

Is uploading your movies for free?

Yup :)

Can't wait for this game :D Looks really damn cool, but I'm not the most creative person in the world, so bleh. :farmer:

Please please please please please please let it be good. I'm begging you. I'm down on my shit-stained scabbed-over carpet-burned knees and begging you with great big salty tears the size of peanuts dripping out of my eyes and running down my blushing face in rivers like a crying emo anime character. I'm down on the floor and begging at the gates of your celestial kingdom of game-ness with the big statue of Peter of Lionhead glaring down at me as if inquiring what the **** am I doing, getting my germs all over his nice clean stairway to heaven - what the **** do I think I'm doing, crying my filth all over his doorstep? But please, Peter. I'm begging you. Let it be good. Or I'll go insane and hunt you down.

Now if you put that much effort into writing content this site would be #1!

If only Lionhead put that much effort into their games, they would be #1!

I actually have a good feeling about this game however. Well, it stands to reason doesn't it? Molenoux has obviously directed his entire attention towards ruining Black and White 2 that he can't possibly have had the time to **** up The Movies too.

After all the Fable broken promises and bullshit it would be wise to wait before buying IMO.

Yeah right.

Jack Thompson would explode with delight.

Someone said something about custom anims. Does that mean there will be other customisable stuff like custom models for scenes?

It would be cool if I could model a cyberpunk room/setting then import it in.

Anybody got it? Is it good? Is it good? Is it good?

Yes for custom models, it's possible to import your own 3D models, I'm not 100% about scenes tho, but it should be possible if you make your own animations for'em.:)

Focus? I don't need focus! :afro:

Looks really interesting. I remember playing a game at my mates house years ago where you had about five or more different scenes and you could make your own plays/movies. That was really cool. Looking into this and very curious about it. As i'm doing film & television next year at Uni and i'd love to muck around on this with it.

(Useless fact: The awesome camera.sqs ability in Operation Flashpoint made me wanna be a director)

3.5\5 from Gamespy :(

Pros :
Great theme and sense of humor; editing and sharing movies is a blast.

Cons :
Repetitive micromanagement-heavy gameplay; less-than-ideal interface.

After watching some of the videos the makers made I kind of lost intrest in this anyway.

boo-urns
that leaves next to nothing to look forward to games wise :(

bah , i dont care about reviews , ill get it no matter what

Do tell us if it's good. If it's not, I will have to make good my promise. D:

Boomtown.com reviewd the game :D
9/10

"From the gorgeous detailed graphics, humour, wonderful on-set animation and the entertaining radio news system, The Movies is a landmark game. It's not perfect, but it gets so many things right that it's hard to be too hard when scoring it. Let me put it this way, when the review copy expires in a couple of weeks, I'll be buying my very own copy."

I'm going to make me a movie about tripods invading earth, but instead of deathrays they have massive wooden mallets

It is impossible for this game to be good if you want your movie to be about anything at all.

With limited sets, actors, costumes, and whatever else, there's a possibility to make like 5 movies.... *yawn*

I wish it were as good as they make it sound.

But you make it sound bad.

8.2 Gamespot

The Good: Addictive Tycoon-style gameplay; moviemaking tools are easy to use and are deceptively deep; visuals scale beautifully; easy to share your weird movies with all your weird friends.

The Bad: Disconnect between the business management and the filmmaking; system hog.

I think this game looks interesting, maybe give it a while for people to create mods or for add-ons to be released.

Limitless potential. (Hopefully).

Downside: Lionhead Game.

Upside: OK reviews, looks cool.

I don't have anything against lionhead but they have a tendancy to overhype. Even wikipedia says so.

Not LionHead specifically imo, but Peter Molyneux in particular.:)

Well, atleast he had the decency to apologize for overhyping Fable a few weeks after its release iirc.:)
