Xbox 360. At least Microsoft has shown me some actual games instead of jerking me around with fakeness.

I might consider getting a PS3 at some point if the games look good, but I've never been a particular fan of a lot of crap on the Sony consoles. And that controller is just... ugh.

I'm getting an XB360, but if Sony impress me with their in-game footage when they release the PS3, i'll buy one of them too. Motorstorm looks too good :D

Xbox 360 = Xbox with pretty graphics and wireless controllers

PS3 = Xbox 360 with prettier graphics

Revolution = Xbox + NES + SNES + N64 + GameCube

The PS3 is backwards compatable just like the PS2 was and tbh there is much better games on the PS1 than on the NES/SNES/N64.

I'm sorry but no. From a technological standpoint yes the PS1 had better but when you add up the number of incredible games from the NES/SNES and the N64 it beats the pants off the PS1 anyday. Besides I could be wrong but I don't think you can download those old PS1 games onto the PS3 like you can for the Revolution.

Difference of opinions..see me, i don't like Zelda, never have, i don't like Mario, never have..the only game between all 3 of them consoles that i actually liked was Goldeneye which isn't worth a whole new console for it, where as i love so many games on the PS1.

Did you play 1 Mario game, 1 Zelda game and Goldeneye between all 3 consoles?

No mate, i was a child that grew up playing with pen and paper...i never had a NES, SNES, N64 or just about any other console known to man. :rolleyes:

Any console that allows me to play Battletoads gets an upgrade of status in my opinion!

oh ssshhhh, you seriously have to be joking!

*counts the no. of great PS games on one hand, and still has fingers to spare :)*

//you owe it to yourself to experience Zelda LTTP and OoT.

Nothing shown at e3 excites me as much as the new Zelda game in development - it simply looks stunning. But, more importantly, we know it will play amazingly well too. If it's not one of the best games ever made i'll eat my Mario hat.

As far as consoles go its the X-Box 360 for me based upon what I've seen so far, though the PC is still the supreme king of all in my book.

Sorry, havn't read this whole topic but if you want the general power differences then here ya go:

Revolution = 3x the power of GC
Xbox 360 = 12x the power of Xbox
PS3 = 35x the power of the PS2

These aren't "exactly exact" as I've seen slight differences on various sites, but it should give you an idea of what we'll be dealing with.

I very much doubt the next gen consoles will be that different when it comes to raw power.

Are Sony doing another 'emotion engine'?? ;)

These figures were derived from direct comparisons of the systems' hardware specs. So, yes, they are raw power comparisons.

But from looking at what they can do, I'm surprised they aren't more powerful.

ROFL 35x more powerful. Yeah ok, the "in game" videos definatly show that.

Yeah, it's possible. Last time around Nintendo gave more realistic, but less impressive, statistics (like fully textured and lit polygons per second instead of raw polygon throughput) than Sony and after the initial shock from the disappointing statistics disappeared the Gamecube actually turned out to be the faster of the two when they are put under the same amount of stress.

I'm not betting on Nintendo being the hardware king or anything like that... I'm just saying that companies show numbers that make themselves look better than the competition... even if it's deceptive. The performance of the alpha kits of the Xbox 360 ring a bell. Before everyone was excited about the performance of the PS3 in the Sony press conference I heard the final GPU might be twice as fast as the one in the dev kit... then as time went on it apparently started getting faster... and around 9PM EST on G4tv that bald Microsoft guy just said it will be four times as fast as the alpha kit. Now, there are people on here yelling "BS!" when Sony says their new GPU will be twice as fast as a 6800 Ultra, citing the memory bandwidth difference between the Xbox 360 and the PS3 as only giving the PS3 a 3GB/s advantage... but when Microsoft says theirs will be four times as fast as an X850 I don't hear a word of disbelief.

Between only Microsoft and Sony... I'm leaning a bit more toward the PS3. Its GPU seems at least equal in power and the Cell processor is very impressive. At this point, I'm just hoping Nintendo didn't underestimate the performance of the other two. I hope they still have something awesome up their sleeves, as stated in the rumor (by that Aries guy, who seems to have a good track record so far) that they will surprise everyone with a big secret today (May 19th).

Gh0st, you might also want to take into consideration that those comparisons were to the next gen console's last gen counterparts.

Just because the PS3 is 35x more powerful as a PS2 doesn't mean it's significantly more powerful than the 360 (which I said was 12-13x more powerful than the xbox).
If you consider that the Xbox is almost 2x more powerful than the PS2, then the comparision could look something like this:
Xbox360 = 12-13x more powerful than Xbox
PS3 = 17-18x more powerful than Xbox

Easier to understand?

Again, I'm not just siding with the PS3 because of power, but I was just more impressed by what Sony had in store, with over a DOZEN in-game demo's and trailers, with only 2 of the trailers being pre-rendered.

After seeing it in action, however, Full Auto does have my attention. And of course, Gears of War.

Don't go all werefanboy on me now. Let's keep this civil.

Wow, i never thought someone's opinion could suck so much.

Is that right?
tell me, what game beats Killzone 2 atm? if that would be ingame moments.
From the looks of things i'd say Gears of War definately rivals it, as at least that was real-time and actually played in front of the audience, unlike Killzone 2.

Although, K2 does look ****ing awesome, i haven't seen anything ingame yet so i can't really decide which will be better. But K2 definately had the better trailer.
