So what you're saying is, the lead singer is a liar.

...

The song is kind of meh.

I'll say 'meh' until i hear something recorded for the new album..this will probs change 10 times between when they did that and the release

Both songs are better than anything on St anger but that's not saying anything.

You! Generic metal drums, go! You and you! Play power chords at random!

You fans! Scream like it's good or original!

Good lord, a person who dislikes the genre that is Metal! Who would've thought?

The new song sounds good, until James started singing that is. I know it was improvised and all but bleh. New album will still be awesome no doubt, can't wait.

Actually I don't mind metal. It's just that Metallica should have died in a plane crash when the 80's ended.

Either I should have listened to the whole thing, or metallica is turning into a pop band.

Metallica were very good, but they really need to stop, they are clearly out of ideas

oh noes I see Metallica haters. Who would've thought they exist. I mean it's not at all trendy to bash metallica, nope, not at all.

here's a classic: "Everything they did after the 80's sucks". Oh wait it's allready been said in this thread well that didn't take too long

Everything kind of went to shit when they got sober, and you know it.

I got up to where they had to restart the song and stopped because the reason behind it defied logic.

It does not sound better with bass. It CANNOT sound better with bass. You cannot hear bass guitar in any Metallica song ever written, FACT. You cannot distinguish it above the screech (or in many cases drone) of the guitar, because the level of distortion required to mask their awful playing renders it completely inaudible.

Seriously, anyone else ever watch the video for One and wonder why they needed a third guitarist? And why he happened to be missing two strings? And why Lars still couldn't get a snare to sound like a snare back then?

Apparently he's had lessons, you'd think they would've taught the guy basic tuning...

wut?

To hell with y'all, the second song is awesome fun. :p

None of those are catchy. And are you telling me that's the first time Metallica have improvised on stage in all their years?

They need to make another S&M. BEST. ALBUM. EVER.

That statement is false

That's false too. The guys can play and if you don't accept this then you're not too intelligent.

Hey, remember that time when they brought out the "properly tuned bass" and the song sounded exactly as shitty as before?

Listen to Orion. Tell me you cannot hear the awesome bass lines and the BASS SOLO in that song.

For a song that was unfinished, un-choreographed and had no lyrics to it whatsoever what do you expect exactly? They were just pissing around on stage, because they can. They are Metallica and they are bigger than your face.

It was still really bad. IMO, if you're going to try out a new song on stage, you make damn sure that it's finished and doesn't sound like ass.

Calling you out on this BS claim. As already mentioned, Orion has a bass solo, as does Holier Than Thou. In most of their other songs the bass line can easily be picked out. Get some better damn speakers before making claims like that. Haven't you ever heard "nothing else matters"? "The Unforgiven"?

Have you even listened to Metallica?

Well that's one song isn't it? Generally Metallica's bass lines just usually follow the guitar. He does have a point.

I think the people who claim there's not a single audible bass note in any Metallica song have only listened to ...And Justice for All

I think the people took Bat^Hat's words at face value are completely missing his point. Space Farm got it.

Your sarcasm doesn't change the fact that they actually do suck. That is the reason its trendy to bash them. Oh, plus the whole Napster thing, too. But mostly because THEY SUCK.

You listen to Bloc Party. You are therefore irrelevant. </3

They're fun. :p

And I see what you're possibly trying to do here - I like Bloc Party, you say they suck, people in this thread like Metallica, I say they suck. The difference is, I'm not making Bloc Party out to be the musical geniuses that some are making Metallica out to be.

EDIT: Plus, Metallica, *actually* sucks, whereas Bloc Party does not. :p

Whoops, sorry guys, I was exaggerating on the internet. My bad :(

Bloc Party win. I use to listen to Metallica fuppin' loads, but I can now easily say I prefer Bloc Party by a million miles now.
