The Newegg $299 7800GT Sale

The thing is that the sale is only a weekend sale. Do you guys think that prices will go down to this low or lower within a month? I will be getting a new card probably late november no matter what... but if this is the best deal there will be until then, should I strike? I only have like 450 bucks on me now, and if it goes lower for xmas or something then I would want to wait. Does anyone know if this stuff has "Christmas Sale"s or anything like that?

Ok well, lets put it this way. I was planning on getting a 6800GT, Which is like 280 bucks and up. This card is only twenty dollars more, and its a better card. Hmm, I think I just answered myself. Gah, I wish I got paid weekly!

The catch is that in a few weeks, they will have the X1800 XT and then prices will drop for the GTX and thus the GT as well. I've been waiting for the GT to get down near the 250 range but for now, $299 still sounds great! I imagine that's tempting for most of us

I'll wager that by christmas you'll find the GT for $250, GTX @ $350 and X1800XT @ $450 with the X1800 XL somewhere near the GTX.

Hell, I've seen several new X850 XT PE's for 225ish on Ebay. Think about how much more they were a few months ago. What I always try and do is buy the new card, sell the old, and then it costs you a lot less. I just don't go crazy with the OC so I can be legit and sell it.

I wanna see who picks up those GTs. I very well might get one. I've actually been thinking about it a lot recently.

I normally pick up cards just as the generation is ending, and the new one is coming out, so I get them at nice low prices.

i dunnom $250 sounds REALLY cheap, I mean the 6800gt hasnt really gone far under $270ish and its an old card.
