I watched the E! True Hollywood Story for "All In the Family" and I'm quite certain that it was not a remake of a British show
Yup, it's a remake, IMDB confirms that.

That's crazy! Archie Bunker is as American as apple pie!. Oh well.Recoil said:Yup, it's a remake, IMDB confirms that.
HBO have a very long list now of good programs. But just about everything else (that strangely doesn't get cancelled while the good stuff is thrown out after one series) stinks.. And that applies for most UK shows too, not just American stuff.smwScott said:Most of the stuff we've "stolen" is terrible anyway. Who Wants to be a Millionaire, American Idol, Survivor, Weakest Link, etc. are all extremely shitty shows. I blame the wave of reality shows imported from Europe for the even worse state TV is in now. There is absolutely nothing worth watching on American networks, and from what I've seen of the BBC you guys are only marginally better.
In America, there is some quality programming on cable (especially HBO), but other than that you're screwed.

They already have a hospital thingy like scrubs. It's stupid, but then so is scrubs. Quirky shows are lame.Doppelgofer said:its simple in my book
british can't do some u.s shows, for example i could NEVER see a uk version of scrubs or cheers working

originals should ALWAYS be left alone in my opinion and if i was to become a director, if i got offered the chance to remake something, even if it was something i believed i could maybe make better or put a modern spin on, i would never....ever...EVER....touch it
edit: omg 666 posts....OMGOMGOMG :flame:
double edit: MY GOD i infact remember they tried to do something VERY VERY similar in format to scrubs over here and reece shearsmith from league of gentlemen played the j.d type character and alexander armstrong played the dr. cox type character...it was rubbish and never worked. i think it was called TLC
