A Prima guide for the Orange Box is on its way out. Authored by David Hodgson, the man responsible for the Half-Life 2 Prima guide and Raising the Bar, comes a seven chapter guide to Episode Two - let's not forget that Portal and Team Fortress 2 are included - which is expected to be as insightful and detailed as his previous projects he's published.
After a fraught battle through Episode One, I've finally found some of my answers by co-authoring the Official Half-Life: Orange Box Book. Although I've been sworn to secrecy on pain of death, the wild ride through the Outlands of City 17 continues, except this time the paths are less linear, and the new enemies more fiendish. The thrill of circle-strafing around a group of Hunters, struggling to dodge their incoming flechettes, while a squad of Combine soldiers disembark from their battle-tank, was matched only by the shocking turns of events that this episode reveals.
To pre-order the guide, follow this linkhttp://www.primagames.com/catalog/display.pperl?isbn=9780761556930. If you want some more information, mosey on down herehttp://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?t=131633.

Nice to see that they're got this down on paper quickly, still - how really does one have a guide for TF2 or Portal?

Edity: Woot 2,000th post...

i love the "our mutual friend" title, its very mysterious,

so this is a strategy guide with bits of raising the bar?

i might pick it up when I've completed episode 2

Reference to Charles Dickens' book and possibly also to G-Man.

All five games covered in the guide? I have Half-Life 2 Guide, I don't want to pay for information what I already have, OMG! I want Black Box Guide!!11! :rolling:

The HL2 guide is actually just 10 pages. It is not a full detailed guide. You can see in the preview on there site.

Who plays games with guides anyway? :S
Where is the fun in just doing what it says in some book? The fun in a game comes from discovering things by yourself...

I never use guides to beat the game, I use them for other things. Such as a Ammo for my Flaming catapult.

Well I use guides if I'm really *stuck*.

I don't use strategy guides to walk me through the game for the first time, but rather a guide to refer to see what I missed and in the worst times of being stuck.
