The Orange Box sold more then Halo 3, stupid Bungie!!!

halo 1 rocked, but the rest suck): then again halo 3 prolly gets better revenue cus it still sells for 60$ and they have a huge online fan base that buy stuff like new maps, bungie pro, ect. but then again valve has steam...... overall its not even a contest which is better tho. gordan rapes chief with his gravity gun.

it will be fun to see how l4d2 stacks up against halo odst
 
Half-Life 2 is up in 8.6 million, wonder how many got it via Steam?
 
Would it be too silly to say that I like Halo due to dislike of the people that dislike it?

Yes but at least Bioshock was a good game, i got Halo 3 a while after it first came out if only to finish up the storyline, i was never the type to play hours on end online. After beating the campaign mode, what, twice? There wasn't really anything else to do. Bioshock at least you could play over and over and over (i'm probably on my 14th or so playthrough) and it'd never get boring.

They are both great. Each game has an audience. I prefer HL2 but Halo3 is a close second. I just like HL2 because its sooo perfect I bought it 4 times

No. Stupidity is buying the same game 4 times period, if your original copy works. If you're a fan, go and buy some Valve HL/Portal products, like the headcrab plushie or something.

well if i wanted the orange box at release i would had to have bought half life again right? so i bought TOB for Xbox b/c im a console gamer and i bought it for PC because of mod support.
 
HL2 and Halo

The both have...
-guns
-mysterious guys in cool jumpsuits
-a sexy female assistant
-an enemy that is a conglomerate of various alien races
-another enemy that is a foreign, mindless growth of ugly threats to humanity
-sci-fi storylines (this isn't too surprising...)
-humans fighting beside them that aren't worth a damn except when scripted to be helpful\
-the letter H

only Halo has...
-multiplayer (this accounts for more of their sales. HL2 survives solely on the singleplayer campaign, except for Deathmatch, but nobody cares about that)
-Space travel (in spaceships, not just teleports)
-the forerunners, whatever the hell they are...
-cutscenes to tell the story
-universal-destruction (as opposed to humanity-destruction)
-It's far into the future.
-a cyborg
-aliens that speak perfect english, wtf...

only HL2 has...
-A melee-specific weapon.
-Near-future, semi-plausible science
-an alternate universe.
-human, synth-human enemies.
-no multiplayer!!! (Deathmatch doesn't count!)
-a badass storyline that beats out most movies and books in the sci-fi area.
-NO cutscenes!
-Zombies (I realize the Flood could be considered "zombie-like", but they're not. they're just... a growth)
-headcrabs
-a gravity gun
-a real physics engine, with puzzles beyond just shooting things.
-a crossbow that sticks enemies to the wall.
-modification-related things...
-Steam
-A mute protagonist
-giant, psionic slugs.
-a crazed zombie-preacer Grigori.
-HL shaped the ground Halo was built on. get over it.
 
the sadest part about this is that when i go to school and ask someone if theyve ever heard of half-life they say no and go off talking about game boy
i almost punched a kid because of it
halo is probly one of the most over rated games ever
