The power behind the force

The technology looks great, but no PC version so meh. What I find suprising is that they can do it (the technology) on the PS2, DS and PSP.

I'm buying a 360 for this.

Animation needs to be better though.

I bet we'll end up with a severely cut down and scaled version of this.

It looks tasty. Hoping for a PC port.

lol, way to be a pessimist.:p

I doubt it will be a Radiant AI 2, Euphoria is being used in many games already, and if you get the package for Euphoria and toy around withit, you will see that the AI can trly be as dynamic as they claim.

I suggest you go to Euphoria's homepage and get the demo of the developers kit(or w/e its called) and check the forums for tutorials on how to use it, its quite fun ;)

FFS. 'You'll think you're in the Star Wars galaxy.' No, you douches, Star Wars is not going on rampages and raping millions of brainless henchmen. The Force is not some chaotic macho power you use to tie your shoes and wipe your ass. What happened to the subtlety, the mysticism, or for that matter the moderation? Why does it have to be so extreme, like they have something to prove?

Riddle me this, Lucasarts: Where are the advances in sabre combat?

/rant

As a Crysis-esque tech demo, fine whatever, it's cool.

You forget that there are two sides of the force. Considering we're playing as the apprentice of Vader, I'm betting that he on the dark side. Those who who follow light side of the force are the ones who use their powers conservatively and for good, whereas those on the dark side would use the force at any opportunity to gain what they desire.

This is the Star Wars game I've been waiting for. Looks like you're gonna have some absolutely insane Force Powers.

[Barring the inane stupidity of the prequels]If Vader is more powerful than the kid in the game (and he's supposed to be), in Ep4 he would have just pulled the Tantive IV into the Devastator, walked on board alone, simultaneously killed every Rebel trooper on it, and dragged Leia back onto the Devastator with the Force.[/Barring prequels]

In short, even if the kid's using the Force for evil purposes, the extremeness of his power is ridiculous. He's essentially the most powerful being in the galaxy.

Perhaps that's exactly the reason why Vader chose him as an apprentice? We never really do see the extent of Vader's power as well, and he was supposed to be the most powerful.

i think this is going to be a game that'll be enjoyable if you just ignore the stupidity of the concept.

in other words. just have fun and dont think about it. ha.

At first I was like :)

But then I realized there was no pc version and I was like :(

And there'll probably be no emulation for this generation of consoles till after the next one is out :(

At least I know my PS3'll be able to handle this kind of physics simulation.

The whole idea of the AI grabbing onto objects when you pick them up looked kinda artificial to me. It was almost like their hands are some rediculous adhesive, so at least they should add the high possibility of them losing their grip.

Wait. I thought the fan outcry resulted in a PC version being approved?

Sweet. The euphoria and dmm stuff is very cool.

This.

I'm still bothered by the powers of this guy. It's ridiculous, and completely fails to fit in with the rest of the universe. They just aren't that powerful. Bringing down a Star Destroyer is the kind of thing I'd expect Yoda to do ... and then fall over dead. It's just stupidly ridiculous.

And if you can do that ... then why the **** is there a Rancor boss fight? He could launch the ****in thing into orbit.

Except for the star destroyer part, he just seems very powerful, which is ok. But that is ****ing stupid. Hopefully it was just for promotional purposes.

According to an Edge preview the guy being held in the air may try to grab something (friend, crate etc) to save himself, or a someone may grab him to try and help, and likely end up lifted in the air too. Realising that this might not be a great idea he may then let go to save himself. While this stuff's bound to look ropey at times, it should lend itself to some awesome moments, and will only get better in future games. It's the same technology that will be used when you throw someone out of a window only to peer out and see him desperately hanging onto the ledge, feet dangling in mid air :)

He's probably on steroids when he ****s up the star destroyer.

I'd bet the Star Destroyer scene was entirely promotional.

The OTT force powers don't bother me too much, there's probably some convoluted Lucas excuse for them being so powerful.

Who knows? It's possible that his powers grow as you advance through the game.

ya this is definitely high on my list :)

any word on a multiplayer component?

Looks like jedi academy when I would screw around in the console. Nothing new (except better physics and stuff :/)

You can lift a guy up, electrify him, then chuck him into other guys to electrify them :)

I'm hoping we can lift ppl up and encourage them to grab onto high up beams and leave them dangling. I want to decorate a level with hanging Stormtrooper daisy chains.
