The real question is what is valve really going to do? about this.....
here is there options

A. Release the game and hope for the best

B. Re-build the source code completly

C. Forget about half-life 2

neither a or c... or even b

they would rebuild all parts that would pose a risk for people who run it

I heard they were gonna form some kinda anti-terrorist group and call it Rainbow 7 (6 was already taken apparently) then storm and slaughter ***** and others for the good of the community.

EDIT: I didn't realise that myg 0t was muted...???

The single player part of HL2 is ok I guess but the Multiplayer parts (TF2 Counter-Strike 2 DOD2) they are totaly screwed. The cheats will be available before the games are out.

*Correction* The group would be called Rainbow (which, yes is already taken :p) and the leader would still be called 6. Six is the designation of the leader (Clark).

:p Sorry, had to do it.

DONT QUOTE ME ON THIS BUT, As i read on IGN, a majority of the money made from Half Life 1 was used to create Half Life 2. Ditching this would be a huge blow. Just live out the delays and support valve.

they'll delay it to January 2004. For sure

B. Delay a little longer. Like Q3 2004 to rewrite the source code.

i forgot option

D. Release Half-life 2 has a single player for now intel there can be ways around this problem

Ya i reckon D.

I still reckon they should just release the SP and patch up the mutliplayer when and if problems arise. Like someone mentioned before - the original Quake2 was released with no multiplayer maps. They can always 're-release' once its done (send a new copy to the pressers).
