The Screamer

The Screamer is a cut unplayable Special Infected that would have appeared one or more times per map. It would wander around until it came in contact with the survivors. Once it saw them, it would quickly run away and hide. When it was successfully hidden, it would let out a scream that would attract the horde.

During testing, play testers complained that the Screamer would end up being too hard to spot in a crowd of infected. Its horde-attracting scream ended up evolving into the Boomer's vomit.

A sound file and a picture of the Screamer can be found in the Left 4 Dead Folder, by searching for screamer.vtf, and com-thescreamer.wav.

the lady doing the commentary has a really annoying voice >.<

This has been posted a few times before.

I'd much rather the bosses we have now be fleshed out more and given more depth. As it stands, I feel they are somewhat shallow.

I wish to listen to the sounds and the commentary, but not ingame. However, whenever I go into l4d/common or w/e the sounds are kept, it wont let me play the wave files.
Help plz?

I think that when they do a certain update they could continue the intro movie as a steam downloadable, or something, but near or at the end Valve gives some more depth and story behind the bosses.

Try right clicking on the file and then click 'open with' and play it using whatever media player you use

still doesn't work, even with VLC or WMP. It says the files might be corrupted.
It may be because I haven't been able to play my copy of L4D yet
I won't have enough RAM til christmas

Theres no sound file for it but I heard about the Screamer from the commentary.

i never listened to the commentary so does it say that run and hide stuff? cuz i heard that when it was close enough to the survivors it let out the scream which attracted the zombies. obviously this idea then turned into the boomer.
