Ive searched and there doesnt seem to be a free legal download of it anywhere

They have game shops here, but you'll have trouble finding anything that is more than 3 years old. Heck, if I can't find Half Life or Age of Empires 2 I doubt I'll have much luck with this.

Still, it would only be legal to download the demo when the copyright is gone.
If you bought the game, to my knowledge, it is legal to download it, since you would've bought the "rights" to own the game.
I dunno, just my thought on this.
