I know most blokes I know say that The Sims is for girls, and that they've never played it in their lives....

...BUT... I also know blokes that have played it but don't own up to it (much like myself)...

It's a good game. You can build houses then burn them to the ground full of Sims. You can play God. OK so girls like it too, but it's still funny to play, for a few days at least.

So be honest. Have you ever played The Sims?

BTW, I'm definately looking forward to the Sims 2 - the graphics look sweet :D

I tried it once. It was the most boring game I have ever played. I wanted to shoot myself after 10 minutes of it.

Yeah that's how I felt till I found the cheat that gives you infinite money, it kinda became fun for a while after that.

Hahah! I can't say it was the most boring game I've played, but I did get tired of telling them to use the bathroom before they pissed themselves. I really thought Will Wright created an incredible genre with the Sims. I think the Sims 2 will expand upon it's possibilities and perhaps turn some heads. The open end, yet goal oriented, design really makes the game interesting. Something has to be said for a game that lets you give characters false hope, manipulate fellow characters for your advantage, and ultimately ruin their little electronic lives. That and getting two chicks to shack up.

I played it, and I enjoyed playing it. I bought it almost as soon as it came out, and still have it. I'm not sure why it's such a stigma to say you enjoyed playing it.

Obviously, it got boring once I ran out of interesting things to do to my little digital spawn, but I still enjoyed it. I have no interst in any of the add-ons. "Ooh, look! A NEW WALL TEXTURE!"

I just liked building the house (with money cheats) and once I was done I slaughtered the family. Yeah killing them sure was fun.

Yes, I had fun playing sims for like a week, then if you arent good at it or you dont cheat it just gets really repetetive and boring, so that week pretty much ended it for me.

Watched someone play it, but nothing more. I played Sim City... 2000 I think it was back in the days of Windows 95. Now that was fun!

As emasculating as the music is, I played a LOT of the Sims. I've always been a wonk for the simcity-style stuff, so its no surprise. It really was amazing original.

I played it and enjoyed it for like a month, then got bored as hell.

i bought the origonal and the next two expansions (before EA started to get greedy) and i must say it was great, but after a few months i sold them and bought something else... it was soo boring...

but recently i actually bought it again (for £15 the origonal and expansion). i played it for a while, found it really fun, then never played it again. i think i got a decent game or something... im gonna keep it for a rainy day ;)

actually, i do the same as i would do on a rainy day anyway... and surely i have better things to do on rainy days? like ly on my bed and look at the celing?

I got it for a present when it came out. I had fun with it. I was pretty good. I got annoyed with the people when they wouldn't do things sometimes. I think that it was find managing one person, then I got married and the woman just chilled at home working up stats. Anything more than 2 people annoyed me. I always found it funny when a fire would start the one fireman would come running to the house. One thing I didn't like was how they force you to make friends in order to have a chance at advancing to the next job level. I had a fair amount...but when they started demanding like 6-7...that was too much.

I might check out Sims 2 if there's a lot more to offer.

Whoever thought that up needs to be shot.

I must've killed everyone in the neighbourhood and the police didn't even come round to investigate.

:sniper: MAKE MORE FRIENDS?! F*CK THAT SON!!! :sniper:

lol

I took out my anger by trapping small children and their parents in the kitchen between like 6 stools. How pathetic are these people? They put their life in my hands, and when I try to kill them, they accept it and cry themselves to their death when all they had to do was move a stool...

I had fun with it for a while... I only played it without cheats for one guy, though... he got married in a bathroom.

It would have been better if it had:
Replay value.
A point.
That godamn 'friends' rule removed.

I bought this game, played it for an hour, returned this game.

I bought it before it became a fad, the cool new thing to buy, like GTA3.

You ever tried to get one of the sims to piss in front of a fire, they will go up in smoke and flames:)

yeah I had it when it first came out when they advertised it as the next thing from the creators of sim city 2000!!!!!

I suspect the Sims 2 will be quite fun. I played the sims, tried it without cheats, then semi cheated by not completeing the tutorial (The two sims you get never get tired or anything if you do it right...then once you have made them great, you just finish the tutorial and you have two super sims to play around with) Then of course i got the money. I never did get any addons, but i was in the Sims Online Beta....That was quite fun actually, because you got to interact with other people; I didnt have enough time in the day to play it though.

I played it for half an hour and had some fun. I told myself that ill continue tomorow, but I never played again for an unknown reason.

My main problem with it was in order to succeed and have enough money to get the good stuff... you couldn't have time to actually USE that stuff... and no weekends! :flame:

what i did (this is the last time i played it) was i created 5 families, but only actually used one of them. the others i purely used as "freinds", and every time i needed a promotion i would call the "real" family to one of the "freinds" and would just make them talk to ages. this wouldnt make my "real" family get dpressed from lack of attentioan, but it would gie them more family freinds, and their promotion!! gets a bit of a hassle though... as you have to keep them talking to each other to keep them family freinds :/
