Surprised this hasn't gotten a thread yet seeing as im pretty sure it played in front of inception in a lot of places, but I am seriously looking foward to this. Written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by David Fincher? Sign me the **** up.

For those of you who don't feel like watching the trailer, this movie isn't so much about facebook as it is about the assholes who made it. Also Mark Zuckerbug is literally insane so it should be cool seeing that on screen.

actually that looks kinda interesting i thought :)

That looks pretty interesting.
Will definitely check it out.

Interesting note: Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails) is doing the score for this movie.

That looks like it could be good.

Not for Zuckerberg's ego, though.

Looks absolutely over exaggerated and lame.

Even though i did somewhat enjoy The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, David Fincher hasn't directed anything noteworthy since Fight Club. This looks very forgettable. Facebook is nothing but a fad, just like MySpace was. How does this crap warrant a movie?

The combination of Fincher, Reznor, and Sorkin is definitely enough to catch my eye, but like TwwIX, I don't really understand why this is being made, and the subject matter itself looks beyond boring.

I think the primary reason people are interested in this film is because the introduction to the trailer, along with the cover of "Creep" is emotionally engaging.

A Social Network film could have great potential if it was a documentary of some sort that focused more on how people's lives and interactions with one another have changed because of Social Networking.

It looks like an interesting story of how friends can betray each other when enough money is at stake. Throw in the underdog tale of one of the most successful companies of the decade from absolute scratch, it seems like it could wield an interesting result. Most of it will be exaggerated or plain untrue, probably, and that's what might make it interesting.

That sounds like something totally unrelated.

Having read the screenplay, I have to wonder how much of it is exaggerated really because Mark Zuckerbug comes off as one the single biggest assholes ever. Which is what I've heard about him in real life anyway.

This, zodiac>fight club

Zodiac was better than Fight Club, and it saddens me that you seem to have forgotten/overlooked it.

...What?

Zodiac was ****ing garbage!
I mean it started off pretty well but then it just sort of dragged on.

I can't believe you can say it was better than Fight Club and actually keep a straight face.

Eh...? Or people are interested in the movie because Fincher? Sorkin? Trent?

Pretty much, Sorkin's script is based on the book 'The Accidental Billionaires'. The author Mezrich has never spoken to Zuckerberg, so its probably exaggerated for entertainment purposes. Although I heard the script is pretty damn good and thats why Fincher is on board.

Zodiac was better than Fight Club. Didn't feel it dragged on at all, a great meticulous character study and probably the best use of CGI used in film. If you didn't enjoy it, fair enough, but calling it garbage is an overstatement.

Saw this trailer when seeing inception. Actually looking forward to it. Might not pay to go see it but I'll definitely check it out when it gets on DVD. I never actually heard of the people that started facebook until this trailer.
