The part that looks messed is sidewalk, I think.

Yes the sidewalk does look a little strange.

I hope they redo the textures the game uses, that grass just screams hl2

But that is nit picking.

well, i would blame valve for their craptastical trees, not the mod , but maybe don't show their low res stuff so close next time


shots look purdy good, i agree with the masonry on the road, to change textures like that, you would prolly need some kind of border, seems unnatural. i would use the bigger ones over the whole road.

i dunno if ive ever played a ww1 mod, it ain't ww2 . i hope you have a calvary

I dont know how they are going to give the sense of utter masacre on this one. Maybe manning a german machinegun with 100,000 npc's charging at you?.... still, good they're covering the somme, it was a tragedy.

The road and sidewalk textures in the 6th pic look stretched out and don't really blend well.

I've only ever played 1 WW1 game in all of my gaming existence. That hl1 mod the trenches. Had it come out the same time as DoD it would probably be hugely popular today, it missed the boat unfortunately.

Please don't miss the boat with this one.

Just to clarify: the textures on the maps are all - for the most part - temporary and will eventually be replaced by much nicer ones.

We hate the tree model too. Not only is that thing ugly, but it's used in every HL2/CS:2 map known to man.

I love it, Ive only seen 1 other ww1 game/mod; The Trenches.
Its great to see a new ww1 mod!

lumping World War I and World War II together is pretty broad, two COMPLETELY different conflicts with different tactics, weapons, and battlefields. There are hardly any WWI games or mods, frankly I think this is something new and exciting to look for.

Oh how true that is, once you've played on you've played em all really, I'd rather have something completely new and refreshing thats never been done before then another rip-off war game.
