Umm... Well, there will be no official coop. You're going to have to wait for Sven Coop 2, a mod.

There won't be out-of-the-box co-op, just co-operative gameplay added by mod teams at a later date, namely Sven Co-op. Even then we don't know what they'll end up doing to the HL2 campaign to make it MP viable.

Never played Sven co-op before so I'm very much looking foward to giving it a shot.

Im not sure if they'll make Hl2 Single player a co-op, atleast not at first. i think the sven co-op team will just be making the sp maps multiplayer dm arena's and objective gameplay rather than playing through the game.
I think more than 1 person with the Ai following you around with their eyes and stuff would just screw it up. Which gordon would Alyx speak to, there being 2 or more in the map?... confusing.

A lot was going on last July, but unfortunately a lot seems to have changed since then. I'd still really like to do it, but if we do, it looks as if it'll be on a different level from what we had undestood. As you mentioned, we don't even have the SDK yet.

We've been wondering the same thing. It was supposed to be happening a few times, then it didn't. Presumably it's all off now, and we're being listed on the Third Party Games page instead (same for Natural Selection, who I assume were offered the same deal).

Go play Sven Coop for Half-life 1. its a blast. I recently picked it up, made a thread about it in the other general gaming forum.
