…A lot of stuff has gone through the servers over at Valve HQ this past year according to this weeks Steam News Update!
Steam has delivered approximately 10 million gigabytes of data since the first of the year. You could fill 125,000 80 GB hard drives with this data to make a line over 11 miles long. Not that you would want to, but the visual helps.
Now those are some impressive numbers! There’s more stats in the update, like the number of minutes totaled up by every user which, of course, is also very high.[br]Valve also hopes everyone is appreciating and enjoying all the updates they have delivered to their community this last week. Make sure you do thank them, because next year they are going to be releasing some more new games through Steam. So don’t piss them off! :p[br]This weeks Steam News Update can be read here.

Interesting statistic they got there.

The updates were very nice this week Valve. Makes me wish I had a 64bit capable processor and Windows X64. Probably make the switch when Vista comes out though.

* If a single person sat down to play on their own, it would take 2.28 million years to accomplish this. This is assuming that you're not planning on sleeping during this 2 million year stretch.
Anyone care to work out how many Pro Plus tablets this feat would take?
Might find out empirically after I wrap my pressies ;).

No. I want 2.28 million shiny pennies.
That's only 20-something thousand dollars :p

Can someone post the full update? It didn't seem to come up for me.

I know the mod community isn't enjoying the recent updates considering the last one broke the Source SDK.

one would think that after having broke it only a week ago causing the same error to appear when you launch hammer they would not make the same mistake twice... :dozey:

You have a paper penis avatar...I'm sure you can do it.

Valve = the greatest. Plus those numbers are amazing.

So more time has been logged into Steam MP games than the entirety of human existence?

Holy crap.

But I'm sure it will beat it out sooner or later :p
