Anyone like them? UK members will know what I am on about.

i got sick of em since xfm used to play them at least 5 times an hour...got ridiculously annoying :/ not bad though. made a refreshing change. you wouldn't catch me buying their album though :O

I cant say i like them really, most of my friends do but i cant see why

The Streets are absolutely bloody brilliant. I think he's got some weak-ish songs on A Grand Don't Come For Free, but Original Pirate Material is almost all solid genius gold.
Skinner's a god.

EDIT: However much of a novelty you may think he is, at least he's not feckin' Goldie Lookin' bastard Chain

I liked that one... the music video was at a bar at the end and he was throwing darts around or something, then a tennis ball lands in his cup. It was cool but the latest two aren't great, the novelty's worn off tbh.

At first i hated them\him...but now i like some songs..

I think the word Meh is rather fitting. Its not that I don't like them, I'm pretty indifferent.

Pffft I like the Chain :)

And the Streets :)

The Streets are ok, but i prefer A roads. :D

On topic: Yeah, The Streets are a good band.

i really hate the streets style of music... most of there songs really get on my nerves, theres only one or two that i can bear to listen to without desperately scrambling for some way to switch the damn stuff off.

About the Chain - I was listening to the radio t'other day and they started talking about a song one of them found while doing a google search, then they played Your Mum Has Got A Penis :|

Don't Mug Yourself
Weak Become Heroes
Dry your Eyes

^ best Streets tracks, although I like the rest of them too.

The sound is pretty unique and the lyrics make sense, not like 90% of other so-called music out there.

They're a bunch of townie pop-stars in my opinion.

I suppose you guys like Blazin` Squad as well \m/

I hav just had heard one song and they are not bad

I don't. There's only about 2 tracks across the 2 albums that I don't like.

Weak Become Heroes is almost his worst song - worst as in it's very generic.
Blazin' Squad, GLC and The Streets are hardly alike.
Blazin' Squad are a bunch of ugly pussy Essex boy scallies trying to play up to the big man gangsta image when really you could easily make each one cry with a single punch. They all deserve to live up to their name and be set on fire.

GLC are a bunch of ugly eejit Newport scallies with a sense of irony that doesn't quite save their tunes. Plus, they pronounce "rap" as "vap". Morons. They at least have more credibility than fecking Blazin' Squad. But then that's not difficult.

The Streets have good samples, good beats (Lights Are Blinding is a fantastic display of this), clever and verbally dextrous lyrics. Skinner's very self-aware and intelligent with what he does. He doesn't try and live up to the hip-hop gangsta nonsense ("Round here we say birds, not bitches"). He's also very clever with the way he does quite a few of his songs. For example, A Grand Don't Come For Free (his second album) is a concept album, telling a story about Mike (doesn't refer to Skinner necessarily, but all the vocalists in the songs are given their proper names, in all his songs). The most astute example of this is The Irony Of It All - a discussion about the effects of cannabis compared to those of drink and why one's illegal where the other isn't. It takes the form of two sides: the lager lout and the stoner student. Genius.

Yeah but the music still sucks :bounce:

One of my favourites.

A grand don't come for free is a hilarious one too. "aw shit... the battery is flat."

Hello? Oh, ****ing phones, man!

"Where's my phone? Aw f*ckit this is not even funny. I lost the f*ckin thing.
Oh wait here it is in my pocket." Tee-hee

Oh, and the album version of Fit But You Know It:
"I didn't want to stroll over all geezer and rude, not rude as in good but rude like uncouth..." :)

The streets IMO dont make music they eat it then shit it out on a plate and expect people to buy it. So, no, I dont like them.

I don't know, they have some inteilligent song's that point out problems with our social system, but songs like "You're fit but you know it" (I think that's it's name) I can't stand.

As much as I love them, I can totally understand why people don't like them.

I think that they are a type of group that you either love or hate but not in between.

"Fit But You Know It" is the only song I've ever heard from them/him/it/schwas...

I should listen to some others.
