This tread is mostly directed to the non-englishspeaking parts of the world. In your county, do you subtitle your forein-speaking shows and movies, or do you dub them?

Here they do it only for kids movies and do both for family-movies (i.e in the cinema it's dubbed, the VHS'es have both versions and on the DVD-release you get to choose language and/or subtitles as usual).
I personally hate dubbing and I've started to dislike subtitles aswell since it often unconsciously attracts your attention away from what's happening and you automatically look down at some text and at the same time your brain analyzes if they translated it good enough or not, etc.
I prefer non-dubbed and non-subtitled when it comes to plain english movies.

Here in Germany everything is dubbed (Except for MTV shows and Crank Yankers). It really sucks though, since every sitcom is dubbed by the same voice actors, and dubbed audio in movies doesn't sound too good either. Luckily we can get an English audio track on DVD...

Heh, I was in France a few months back, and this one program had the same guy doing all the dubbing. It was so bad because every person had the same monotone voice

As Harij said, They dub children's programs/movies in the cinema (But some movies are projected in 2 versions sometimes) & Pokémon & Yu-Gi-Oh are always dubbed. VHS movies usually come in 2 different versions (just like DVD with widescreen or not) while DVDs usually have multiple languages & like 20 different subs...
The overall Swedish dubbing quality is pretty high imho. The only problem I have with it is that they ALWAYS seem to hire the same voices (not just the same voice actors, they use the same voices too) which can become kinda irritating if you're a fan of Disney movies and/or anime (AFAIK Pokémon & Yu-Gi-Oh are the only animes on Swedish TV atm).
The exception was the first season of South Park which wasn't subbed OR dubbed which was cool.
