The train crushes me!

Haha when I first read it I burst out laughing too -it sounds worse than the guy who couldn't figure out how to open the door.

But then I remembered, I had this same thing happen before. I had the same train thing, but I think it was because I messed around and made the gman do scripts on the train.

Are you sure you are not behaving abnormally?

I don't think this is BS because it happened to me once, and the screenshots show the same thing that happened to me.

Mine never did it again though, so no solution from me, sorry ;(

The line to put in your config is:
Code:
bind "v" "ent_setname foomp; ent_fire foomp ignite; ent_setname unfoomp"
This will ignite anything you're aiming at that was made to be ignitable (you can set breakable boards, people, and ragdolls on fire for sure, there might be more) when you aim at it and press V. Or, you can type it in the console, don't think it will stay after you restart the game though.

What a miserable way to die when your about to save the world.
You saved not one, but two planets, singlehandedly took out a good portion of the US government, survived and created a resonance cascade. And then.

You get smushed by a train.

-.-

Nah. I think the best bug was the rare one in the original Half-Life where Barney would drop dead before opening the door to train. This infuriated new players because they didn't realize it was a bug and tried to figure out how to get out of the train car on their own!

Hah, that must make people go crazy as they hunt vainly around a tiny box for what's likely to be an extremely obvious solution...

I know how it is to hunt for half an hour (or more) for a dead-obvious solution, and it turns out to be something stupid.

But that's worse... that's a glitch, and noone knows it. :O

This sounds like a variation of HL1s copy protect code, which used to jump out of its box for no reason and sabotage legally bought copies. The HL1 copy protect used to kill all important people in the game - at the beginning, so you could not get them to open doors etc to play the game. It sometimes used to turn on, even when your copy was completely legitimate (as mine always was). The HL2 version could be the train crash scenario.

i thought this was a bug caused by cracking the game which would kill NPCs as soon as they would have to execute a script.

It's a testament to the physics/source engine that this bug doesn't cause an error (per se), but that the entities in the game react accordingly. Dude, you have to post some screenies.
