noo it doesnt go to the end of the game, i know that for a fact. the 2nd flute will take you to the next walkway down FOR SURE. that part of the video was video edited.

lol i dont wanna argue about smb3 though, so u think what u wanna think but i know im right about this

Yes, yes it does. I passed the game several times in the past, and I just dug out my SNES and tried it (with the super mario all stars which includes 3) and I just tried it with an emulator.

I believe there were two seams in the 45 min Half Life video, where I presume he screwd up and went back to a save point. (one notably right after the cliff scene, I believe)

Does that make it a fake?

Heck no. That shit was still way impressive. I dont blame the guy at all for not taking the 5000 trys it would take to get the whole game perfectly in one shot, and instead just playing through the 500 or so times it took to figure all that stuff out. Give the guy an f'in break. It still rocked.

i dont think the 48 min one wasnt a fake, but im sure he used some kind of mod for his advantage, like the gauss gun, or jumping script, or slow motion or sometrhing, but it looks legit, i love how he skiped so much by using the mines

edit:just watched the 11 min super mario vid, im sure he faked it, he like sped the camera up or something, or some mod that made him run faster

also didn’t the gauss jump only work in multiplayer? Perhaps he was playing a slightly modified version with lower gravity for example?
The gauss jump only propells you upwards in Multiplayer, but it still propells you sideways. Also, when hitting a slow at fast speed, you get thrown up as he was.

Try it.

Not sure about your first point.

Ok about the HL1 Video, I think he used the First version of HL1, because in the first build... you can run faster and jump higher... But even if he did have to start over... thats still pretty impressive...
