The un-funny truth about Scientology

It's 4 in the morning, so that really creeped me out, also means I don't quite understand everything. Like why they would kill people who are avidly part of their cult for no apparent reason?

There's a funny truth about Scientology?

Link. Not south park either. Because I said funny.

Who knows? Cults are weird like that.

so is anyone going to answer my question, i so confused. :( Like for example, the first woman they talked about, i didn't understand the whole hospital thing, because it wouldn't matter where they took her, because she obviously had been dead for a while right? she looked rotted. were they implying that they went to the hospital with the scientologist to cover it up?
Was it the car crash that made her "mentally unstable" or the scientology?

What about all the other murdered people, why would they kill avid members? and whats the significance of the guy holding the only money he had left in his hand after jumping off the roof?

This entire thing is really vague, either that or I am tired as shit. Someone explain pwease?

she was malnourished and dehydrated but instead of taking her to a hospital nearby they insisted on taking her to a hospital which had a doctor from their sect. From what I've read on their site most of these people committed suicide to either escape debt and harassment from the cult or due to untreated mental illnesses.

Lisa McPherson had been a Scientologist from the age of 18 until the age of 36.

Originally Lisa McPherson was in a minor car crash; she seemed unharmed, but she was deemed to be mentally unstable at the scene. They took her to a regular hospital first, and she was pronounced physically ok but psychologically unstable, and they wanted to put her through testing. Some Scientologists arrived, declared she did not believe in psychiatry, then they checked her out and took her to a Scientologist Hospital 60 miles away. When she died she was malnorished and dehydrated and covered in cockroach bites. She was locked in a room and starved to death, as a 'cure' for her mental illnesses, deemed "rest and relaxation" by the Church of Scientology.

The Church of Scientology sued the coroner who testified that Lisa McPherson had been found underweight, severely dehydrated, bruised and bitten.

Crimminal Charges were dropped against the Church of Scientology in 2000 because of 'lack of evidence'.

Note the mental instability of most of the people in the video and how they don't get the proper treatment since Scientology is so vehemently anti psychiatry...

Lisa McPherson was locked in a hotel room with a few Scientology tapes to listen to in SOLITARY confinement for 17 days without the care she so desperately needed as she couldn't even take care of the basic functions to sustain her own life such as feed or clothe herself. Its not really surprising what happened to her when she was placed in such circumstances...

So... what exactly does scientology have against psychiatry? I never actually got that part... unless it's another thing they keep to themselves. In which case the protesting is a little pointless.

So AIDs kills but it's still funny...

Edit: To some people...

I don't like watching videos bashing any religions, because of the crap I get for being mormon... but I gotta remember, mormons don't do stuff like that :|

She died in transit, or not a very long time before. They took her to hospital, presumably in a panic, because they discovered she'd expired or was close to it. The roach bites were probably sustained while she ways alive. Her condition was mainly the fault of their incarcerating her.

You're making a classical mistake -- You're legitimizing Scientology as a religion and overlooking the fact that in order to actually be the Church of Scientology, they can't actually charge their members thousands and thousands of dollars just to get to the level where they know the basic beliefs of the "Church". Ironically, when they get to that level -- "OT3" -- coincidentally, they learn to deny knowing it. Have a look at this chart to see how much you have to pay to "advance" in this MMOC(C being Cult) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology_as_a_business

If you wanna avoid the technical stuff, just think about this - Do you know any "Church" which has an organization dedicated to taking over the world? No? Doesn't matter, moving on - What about a "Church" that has an organization dedicated to the harassment and persecution of critics? Now the answer to both - #1: Sea Org. #2: The Office of Special Affairs. So what do these guys actually do? Surely I'm exaggerating? I'm not. Just watch a few of this guy's videos - http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?p=r&user=xenutv1
He was banned by Youtube because Scientology pressured them to do it by the way. Nazis in a large sense of the word, omitting the racism part, and turning it 180 degrees so that when anyone criticizes you, YOU are a Nazi. They use that analogy a lot by the way.

A lot of the shit they try to sell is their 'alternative' to psychology. It's in their financial interest to try to discredit psychology and prevent their members from trying it.

Also, L Ron Hubbard was a schizophreniac.

Requime for a Dream has the best ambient music... good choice.

(And hopefully even more effective).

Apparently Anonymous are also all american.

what the **** yeah i know there was a warning i shouldn't have watched it in the first place...that first shock picture just jumped out of nowhere and i literally had trouble getting any sleep because it haunted me for hours after i went to bed. i had to open my eyes every 10 seconds to make sure there's no dead people in the room. horrible.

and i've seen worse but for some reason that was awful.

I agree, I researched to find out more about her online, and came across high definition photos of her autopsy. There's definately something horrifying about her corpse in particular. I had watched the video at 4 in the morning, sent chills up my back. Occasionally the image of her face comes into my mind late at night and I get scared shitless.
Also, I found photos online that someone had defaced her name on the brick laid in her memory.

Her autopsy photos almost remind me of the condition of an ice mummy.

This bit of info I found was strange and disturbing-

Forensic entomologists identified over a hundred cockroach feeding sites on her body, and three nationally prominent forensic pathologists opined that the manner of death was "homicide". Pathologist Werner Spitz, M.D. wrote in his affidavit that "the insect bites appearing in the autopsy photographs of Lisa McPherson, and in particular on her hands and feet, are antemortem and peri-mortem/postmortem."

In other words, bugs were feeding on Lisa before she died, while she was dying and after she had died. Perhaps it is for this reason that they found it necessary to bath a dead Lisa McPherson before they drove her to a hospital 45 minutes away so she could see an emergency room doctor who is a Scientologist, passing four other hospitals.

And in any case, Scientology argues that postmortem cockroach bites are irrelevant, since Lisa could not personally experience the bites and trauma from it.

I'd love to punch a Scientology bastard right in the face.
