...Also, I want it noted for future reference that merely typing "official" in the threads topic does not actually make it official, you have to run commercials have it linked to in all the other forums, have a guy from valve post on the thread and idealy make a little song about it first.

I already knew that.

But writing "THE unOfficial G-Man POLL" was pretty pointless. I might aswell have just wrote it as "THE G-Man POLL". Having the thread title as "THE OFFICIAL G-Man POLL" sounded much cooler.

At anyrate, it doesn't matter now cos some cheeky mod has added an 'un-' to it. So there you go Mr Fussy, this thread's now been renamed to 'THE unOfficial G-Man POLL' ;(

Right, Triple post time..

I voted that Gman is your average government-man. But this isnt exactly what i think..

I think that in Hl1, Gman was your average cryptic government-man, but when valve saw Hl fans responses to the Gman, they decided to change his identity a little, making him as mysterious as fans thought he was.

Anyway, as someone's already stated in this thread, we still may not even find out about gman in hl2. Though, hopefully after playing it, we would be able remove to destroy some of the options i included in this poll (those being ones like "Gman is Gordon from the future" and "Gman is Gordon from a parallel Uni"), making the ideas of what/who Gman is, more refined.

I think he's a robot. He talks robotically, and there is a strange bit in the e3 2004 demo at the start ("rise and shine mr. freeman") where his speech seems to repeat ("let's just say your hour has come agai..ai..ain") like a malfunction.

Plus you can't kill him. And you are told by the end of game boss in HL1 that he's waiting for you and he isn't a man, so that rules out most of the poll options. Either hes a robot or an alien.

Haha, actually that is just a glitch in the video.

If you watch the bink video he says it without the stutter.

I highly doubt he is robotic. Alien, maybe.

and I noticed the G-man said he was relieving gordon from his weapons because they were government belongings
"I took the liberty of relieving you from your weapons, most of them were government property"

So the g-man might be a government worker :O or more !
