The two ideas for new user titles that are realistically doable are here listed for polling.

I hope someone will advertise this like back when we did the "new skin" polls.

Those were the "normal" ones who received most votes (10).

Join-Date related User titles and User-Created were rejected by the Members/Staff respectively.

I think one of the main reasons why riomhaires idea is getting more votes is because of the custom title option, which would cause spam because people would be posting a lot just to get it.

The periodic table idea is by far the most interesting. That's where my vote has gone.

Is it just me or is the periodic table thing pretty lame and un-HL-ish?

As I dislike all options, I won't vote.
 
It's funny really... you think it'd be easy to impliment new user titles seeing as all you have to do is just open up the Admin CP, click on the user sub section or whatever, then just create a few more titles and click "accept". Can we at least have the old ones back while we squabble over who's idea is best? I just want to ditch this "Member" title... I feel so... bland :(

You get user titles that are elements.

Hydrogen -> Helium -> etc.

I feel that having half-life enemies is the only way to run a hl2 forum. One column with a mix of Xen/Combine forces was best, easier to understand, and custom names are just something people will spam to achieve.

To tell you the truth, I like Samon's list better--with the addition of ichthyosaur and strider as levels, imho--but his isn't in the ballot. I guess that's what's making this so hard is that everyone has their own HO's to add, everyone has something they don't like about everyone else's idea.

My HO: Just pick a list that has every non-human enemy (no Breen, etc), make an intelligent order for them (I like Samon's), and then when you've instated it, veto any discussions about people complaining about it, because they will and it'll only lead to you guys doing this again.

Anyway, then you grow on and you get a heavier element.

Or what about an actual measure of e-penis sizes? (Sorry, the 3 girls that frequent this forum, but I think we should just keep it with e-penis' only. I've never heard of an e-boob. :D)

On a slightly related note, I think a little computer spec thing in peoples profiles would be cool (selectable via the menu you get when you click peoples' names in posts, or as a little icon, like the msn icon some people have enabled).

For diagnosing problems, interest and to get people to take their specs out of their signatures (that's where it relates to e-penises :p)
