Thought everybody might like this, I cant remember where I found it, but I uploaded it so it doesnt matter. Makes the ragdolls just like HL2. A powerfull gun and a headshot can cause them to do backflips and gernades can really send em flying. Much nicer than the normal ones. Should be simple enough to "install"

definately better than default. still something not right about them i just don't like. can't put my finger on it. probably just the dorkiness of the models themselves that taint my perceptions of the ragdoll. nice find, tho.

Yeah, I definitely downloaded this about a week ago. It's awesome when you round a corner and blow somebody away with the m3. You drop 'em like a bad habit.

However, it does sometimes make for some weird death poses sometimes.

Cool find, thx. I hope someday Valve will release thair own, normal physically models.

Ah, this is fantastic. It has just doubled my enjoyment of CS:S. I can't believe Valve would implement those useless balloon ragdolls over this kind of physics.

Question. If you have custom player models installed, will this change them?
I have that "Good Homer VS Evil Homer" player models (the only CT and T models that I found that actually WORK).

i dont think it will work since there are models in the download

If you rename the files to the name of your custom models im guessing it would work... I dont know, never used any custom models. :[

if im not mistaken, the custom models would still be "terror" and "urban" models, so these should work.

I prefer this over the default ragdoll physics because now there it is very rare that you see the same death sequence occur.

It's hilarious, when you jump, get a headie and backflip :D

Off a building just owns. I think I got one kill on you unfocused where you did a backflip :E

Dude, these are so awesome. I enjoy CSS so much more now. Of course there's some clipping because of how the models are made but dang. Shotty-kills own now.

BOOM ... [backflip]

downloaded and installed, gonna take em for a test run now :D

how do I edit the physics myself.... I do like both cs ragdolls and now these hl2 ragdolls but I would prefer if it was in between. Cs ragdolls seem to stiff but the hl2 ones seem like jelly

Would require coding.

1600th post, oooo.

I'm loving these physics. Off the balcony from a shotty in the head in italy is priceless.

There seems to be a bit of a weird kinda..........thing. Due to the physics (i urge you to test this) when you are in the bottom vent in assault, and get killed, your head will plough through the top of the vent and your body will become stuck like there's a rope around your neck. One advantage of this is that the dead bodies make for excellent cover :naughty:

yeah thats a problem i saw with it. doesnt really make for such good cover since everybody will see em laying in the vent while they are dangleing there for you. :[

Iam interested in giving this a go! as it sounds interesting,
But unsure as to were to install the rar. file
So, if you could please give my some help i would greatly appreaciate it!
SFPL1.

Unzip it to your cs:s/cs/ folder.

This isn't going to cause any problems with VAC2 is it?

Nope, they qualify as custom player models basically, even though they simply alter the physics. Remember, ragdolls are client side, so it's not like it makes a difference. Even as it is, people see dead bodies in different places.

Very true.
Me and a few guys were blowing eachother up with gernades on dust off ledges to see how far we could get and try and clear underpasses n stuff.
Heh :).
I'll be like, "Damn!"
and they'll be like, "Holy crap dude you made it!"

Is there like a small randomness factor to the ragdolls? I mean, if there wasnt, even though they are client side wouldnt people see em crashing down in the same place? (or close)

I don't know the exact answer but I'd have to assume so. Only other thing that I could see coming into play is processor / ram differences.

Yea, the ragdolls always land in the same general area.

yeah these r pritty cool. Thanks!

I love these, when u shoot some1 with shotgun u can feel its power, and headshots are sooooo cool, players head will "scratch", its so nice. And snipers make these ragdolls look even cooler. :naughty:

The altered physics seem a bit "extreme" sometimes (some guy goes flying 10 feet down the hallway when I kill him with SMG) but it's definately a major improvement over CSS's retarded "magic floating bodies" default physics.

True. I just hope that valve will but these ragdolls in cs source. And i wouldnt mind if they would make these even better, maybe they could ad some animations ass well in these. Tha would be cool. imgine that dudes animated ragdolls.. Cool! :E

I actually think these are perfect for me, and not overdone at all. I cut my ragdoll physics teeth on Hitman 2, where a couple of Deagles could send a man flying 50 feet, or have him pinned suspended up a wall under continuous fire.

Granted, they might be a bit over-the-top for your average monocle-wearing, brandy-sipping CS player, but I love getting back to the HL2 feeling of putting a slug in someone's face and having it feel like I really punched them. These rule!

Yeah Valve should make a new physics model for them. This one is OK, but look at all those custom maps made by the community. They're quite nice, but when Valve finally decides to do something, they do it perfectly (well it's Turtle Rock when talking about maps, but Valve pays them to do them).

Congrats on the name change Unfox'd :)
I'm not really bothered about the rag dolls, but if you all say its worth it then I'll give it a go.

heh, forgot when i saw this post that i still had the old ragdoll files. made a more in depth post on steam forums about them.

anyhoo, these are the original cs:s ragdolls files. so if you don't like the hl2 ones, here they are.

old cs:s physics

enjoy.

Or do the easy thing and delete your ragdol folder so the GCF's remake it...

yeah...uhmm...no. these are the old cs:s ragdoll physics, before they nerfed them to reduce cpu usage. if you delete the hl2dm ones, then cs:s will use the new defaults that are in the cache file which are gimped.

so if you want the old style physics, use these. or use the hl2dm ones, whichever you like better. these just seem slightly more realistic than the hl2dm ones.

They kinda fall a little too hard, it takes away that cinematic floating when they die. But it still looks better than the original ragdolls.

I beg to differ, i eventually removed this file because i was getting alot of the same (and very goofy) looking deaths... its good sometimes, others I prefer the crappy originals.

Fact is, the physics weren't made for these models so they have some problems handling them the same a hl2 person does.
