AMD wins gong at Intel bash

Link

AMD CAUSED something of a ruckus last night by winning the Computer Trade Show award for Best CPU Manufacturer at a shindig sponsored by Intel.

Awards, presented by Intel, were given out throughout the night. However, the Intel lady left the AMD award until last, and walked off the stage rather than present it personally to a jubilant set of chaps.

We got some blurry 3am bar-room photos of the award itself, which AMD were said to be delighted with. There's a nice big 'Sponsored by Intel' logo in the corner. How wonderfully ironic.

Bahahahahahahahahahahahaha ahhhhhhhhhhh I love AMD!

Hehe, AMD deserve it. They're more innovative than Intel, and generally make better products.

Intel should grow up a bit...

its not cheaper :O

Yes it is, I remember a few months ago when the FX-53 went down a little prices were FX-53 about $800 the pentium equivalent to it the EE P4 was over a grand.

AMD is to Intel what 5 years ago NVidia was to 3dfx, and what ATI is to NVidia now...

Does that make sense? :rolling:

so the awards where sponsored by intel but the AMD won?

lol thats like a kick in the balls

I wouldn't go that far...

I don't see AMD or ATi putting Intel or nVidia out of business any time soon.

Plus competition is always good :). Nice one AMD :E

VIA make very nice CPUs too - they don't get heard about because they're not performance kings, but how many CPUs do you know can run at 800mhz with only a fanless heatsink for cooling, and can run off a 12v battery with minimal power drain?
