Hey guys its Vulture117 again with a new model that i think will be a bit more popular then my last lol.

As you may have gessed from the tital its a stormtrooper

ive only just started so ive only done the helmet to far and even thats not finished. Heres a pic

Add more detail to that rifle and it will look uber
 
here is a sweet 3/4 reference for the blaster rifle, you have a lot of detail missing and the scope rail is too high, also you put an extra thing over the barrel. if you just make the clip thing i think urs would look pretty sweet already.

i think the one he made was more of a 3rdperson model.
nice work u have there i dont really know what ur making but im assuming its starwarsish

i think the helmet is pretty sweet. just one thing though. something seems wrong at the top where theres the top bit then a ring n then the whole face part. where the "face part" meets with the ring it doesnt seem in line with the top bit. sorry if that was really confusing lol.
 
also you didnt have to model the indents on the bridge of the nose they could have been bumped in or normal mapped saving you a lot of time and trouble

Just so you know ive only done a couple other renders so im a total noob at this. Point me to a tutorial for it and ill get right on it :)
 
hey man thats looking very nice . can you show us some of the refrences you are using for his body ? . i cant really give you much criticism without them.
also whats the current polycount.

Ok this is not going to be the ingame model ive made this one for normal/bump maps and such so the other one will be much lower poly :D

For the refernce pics thing I used about 20 million of em (most of them not being of the movies but of fans and thier amour) but the ones i used for rotoscopy were this

awsome model, just tone it down on the hands, and the poly count should lower a bit
 
9600 tris is a big no no for game characters. from the screen u sent me it looks like the majority of ur tri count is in the head i think you should remodel it and pay attention to optimisation try to lower the number of tris/faces used on the top of the head it has way too many iterations.
 
lol mindless didnt you read what i said "Ok this is not going to be the ingame model ive made this one for normal/bump maps and such so the other one will be much lower poly" I am going to lower the polies in anouther version this one is for NORMAL/BUMP maps. Because there are a hundred little bits on storm trooper amour that canot be put in without taking up polys so im makeing this one first then the low poly version.
 
well then its too lowpolly lol :p...
you should smooth out the head and other areas.
 
lol ok ive made the low poly model and saved it to a seperate scene but ive run into a problem... I dont know how to work shaders for the shiney efect for the model and I dont know how to make normal/bump maps for it and I cant find eny tutorials please help :(
