There is no such thing as the best game of all time or the the best game ever

Why? It's simple.

To have the best game of all time, You would have to be in a world where video games exisited for a period of time and then people stopped making them. Then you would have the best game of all time (whichever one you choose).

Then there is the best game ever...which is almost the same as the best game off all time, where nobody is making the video games anymore.

How about HL2?? Is that the best game ever?? Is that the best game of all time?? NO!! Why??...what about HL3?? What about other FPS that will beat HL2 (and other FPS WILL beat HL2). My point is that I HATE those labels people put on games because they don't make sense. There..I said it (or typed it)..I'm done. :E

The title of this thread showed such promise! There was I hoping I would find some declaration of how personal taste meant such a feat wasn't possible amongst the highest rung of quality game-making leaving Halo 2 and Half-Life 2 both to be enjoyed for whoever could get into them...
