I wasn't exactly sure what board to post this in, so I decided to go with the most active one. I made this thread in the Suggestions/Ideas board over at SteamPowered.com. Go to that thread or look below for a description. I don't know if it will have any effect, but we can try to promote it. I'm trying to spread it around on different fan sites, because this can help them all out! If we get enough people to post in that thread and support it, then maybe VALVe will make it happen!
"As the Site Director of HeadCrabUnion.com, I know that it's extremely hard to draw traffic and new members to your fan site, especially if you're just starting out.
I think that VALVe should help out its own community by adding a new section to their Steam program, which lists the names, descriptions, info, and links to all of their dedicated fan sites...
HalfLife2.net
HLfallout.net
HeadCrabUnion.com
HL2world.com
HL2online.com
HL2files.com
HLgamer.com
PHWonline.com
And many many more!
This would help out the entire community and VALVe at the same time! They would be helping all these communities to draw in new members and activity, and they would also be helping themselves out by getting their customers more involved in communities, so they'll be able to see all the latest mod news that doesn't usually get featured in regular Steam updates. It's better off for everyone!"
