I could'nt disagree with you more. MGS2 is well better than MGS1, in story, gameplay, graphics, sound, AI, cool-ness. My only problem was having to play pansy boy but apart from that it was amazing.

Is MGS3 out in japan or do you have a demo or something? Also is GT4 out in japan yet? whats it like if so, i can't stop drooling over that game. :D

I doubt it will come out on Xbox for a good while. Its one of the 3 (GT/MGS/FF) franchises that makes having a PS2 worthwhile. Did MGS2 substance come out on Xbox? i can't remember but i think it did and it was well over a year later. :p

Yeah, MGS2 came out for Xbox. This is the only thing that leads me to believe that MGS3 will some day come out for XBox.

I dont own a ps2,but I will borrow a friends to play this game, and if he dont buy it, I will. Heck if I start working soon I will buy my own ps2.

Looks like a great film..I mean game.

I really don't care myself. If its a game its an awesome one, and if its a movie its a classic. I'll take it anyway I can get it. :D

i agree except for the story being better- IMO the story in MGS2 sucked. MGS1 had a decent love story, with an optional tradgedy if you werent good enouh to complete the torture. the end was great. MGS2, however, just had raiden going mad, finding out that everyones a giant PC or something before having a big fight in new york and having a shitty talk with snake about genes. Its a decent story though, just MGS1 completely pwns it.

well actually.. youre quite right..
It is a Movie-Game..

MGS1 is the game that brought the "movie-touch" into games..
with camera angles / camera movment, and many other film blablabla..

you get the idea..

Why Has No-one Commented On The Monkeys?

Speaking of monkey's. New MGS3 screens http://www.gamershell.com/hellzone_Playstation_2_Metal_Gear_Solid_3.shtml pretty shit i know but maybe you can fathom it out :p

Edit/ Well the only thing i can come up with is its a joke and they will actually be ingame, after you complete it or something. Special mode!? Like the "big head" mode you get in most FPS console games if you complete it fast, do a certain thing....

If thats the case, which i think is probably the most logical reason for them being there as they kinda don't fit the enviroment to be in the story, then all enemies get replaced by them as you can see...snake is still hiding from them and sneaking up on them. :hmph:

Dude...those are the apes from Ape Escape. Its a joke. :D
Kojima is famous for putting dumb little jokes at the end of the trailers. Hell he pretty much just made up all the trailers for MGS2. They're not going to ACTUALLY be in the game, hes just poking fun at what some people think of the new jungle setting.

The trailer, I must say, seems to have movie like production value. Moreover, the whole atmosphere, music and the graphics seem stunning.

My fav thing in games is animation - and boy it looks fantastic! :D

I've never been this impressed by a ps2 game ever before (other than GT3 and Final fantasy 10), but this seems to change my thoughts, furthur.

Damn - I had so many chances to try out MGS, and I missed them all. I really am missing out on something great.

You really are missing out on something great. MGS extremely raised the bar on stealth/adventure games as HL did on FPS and GT did on racing games and FF did on RPG/adventure games. If there was 4 game types that i never forget its them 4.

You're also going to missing out on the pure pwnage that is GTA:SA.

Oh god these trailers are so funny.

Hideo really knows how to make some cliche bad guys, ZA FURY!!!

Flamesuit, flamethrower, and jetpack, ahahaha.

Oh boy Ocelot couldn't spin his guns for long enough, seriously.

Whoever animated that is a God BTW.

True,

I still think Snake should have just shot him in the face a couple of times while he was spinning his guns behind his back.

Yeah, and I'm not even gonna start on hairy armpit lady and that crappy knife trick in MGS2.

Its a real guy doing that with motion capture..it was in one of the gamespot making of videos...

Well. I for one have played the metal gear solid games, and while I may not think the gameplay is the best... what keeps me going is the storyline. No other game have I played where I felt so in touch with some of the characters involved. These games would make awesome movies if they'd spend the time to animate them all in full feature length films. All the plot twists, and everything is just amazing. And i'm not much of a fan for these kind of games. I just hope I can get as attached to some of the characters in half-life 2 that I could in metal gear solid games.

I'd still think someone had to animate the little touches such as his fingers (never seen a motion capture system with that level of detail). Either way, both the animator and the motion captured guy are incredible.

Guys, don't miss out this incredible video.

Evil guy, shooting the guards in the face while they are unconscious. :|

dont know if this kind of talk is aloud, but is there a ps2 emulator out there?

PS2 emulators do exist, but they're not any substitute for the actual system.

That was the most amazing video I've seen since...well, since the E3 MGS3 one. Unfortunetely, the game itself looks shite.
