Things to do before you die?

We need a person on Mars just to say we put a person on mars. I wan't to be alive at the same time we have an individual walking on a celestial body besides earth.

Eventually humans won't be needed but unless there are radical increases in the artificial intelligence of the current rovers (or those on the drawing boards) it won't be for a while. I think we still have 2 working rovers on mars right now, i may be wrong.

But why? I would like a toilette made of pure platinum, it would inspire thousands to want to be as rich as me. But does it mean its wise to spend money on something like that?

People need to stop being so damn emotional. That money would be well better spent here. And a robot on mars will provide you with a lot more information than a human can. Im all for space exploration, it's something I am fascinated with. But until colonizing space is a serious prospect wasting money on sending humans to distant planets is dumb, send robots.

3 chicks at the same time, and possibly getting raped in my sleep by the woman of my dreams

Be careful what you wish for. You might get half of what you asked for and wake up to Sarah Jessica Parker, Hillary Clinton and Marilyn Manson pinning you down.

Fix'd. Dream big, man.

Only after that space fighter was in an epic battle against the empire, and the robot I'm fighting over the chute with is General Grievous..

**** I'm going to go watch star wars.

See my post in this thread.

*Play a guitar fluently.

*Have a net worth of at least $1 million dollars.

*Live anywhere else but where I'm at currently.

Still contemplating whether or not I want to marry one day.

BTW, is it just me or do these lists almost sound like Xbox achievements?

I will buy this book.

:p you might have to wait a while, I'm hypercritical of myself and the only way I will ever finish a novel is if it's actually really good which is probably about 10 years worth of trying to write it and hating myself the whole time for it and possibly killing myself in the process. That does make me feel a little optimistic though since good writers generally have mad issues about themselves and their writing like I do, but on the other hand they also have important points to make which I have yet to discover for myself :D

I suggest doing this one last or you have no hope.

Well, right. I'm not planning on rushing into marriage, but steady girlfriends are always a good thing in the meantime--one which will hopefully become my wife. My career goals will always take precedence to personal and romantic goals.

Skydiving. Was gonna do it with my grandad before he died (he did this shit fir a living). Just have to overcome my fear of heights.

:l

Among other things:
Visit Arctitc, like my father did.
Visit Oxford, Canada and maybe NY.
Write a book, make a movie or something like that.
Invent or discover something new.

I want to skydive someday too, but goddamn if I won't be pissing and probably crying with terror on the way down.

And there's no way I could get myself to jump out of a plane, someone would have to push me.

The only way I'd jump from a plane is if it was parked on the runway.

In no order.

Visit every continent.
Skydiving.
Base jumping.
Make a video game.
Make a movie.
Get my pilots license.
Become financially well off.
Buy a yacht and cruise around the world.
Climb Mt. Everest.
See the Mayan Ruins, Egyptian Pyramids, Great Wall of China, Stonehenge, Taj Mahal, etc etc.
Marry a beautiful and intelligent girl and make four beautiful babies.
Save a life.

What if I jump out with you holding hands I mean yeah that sounds gay as a ****ing f*aggot but hey WE'D BE DOING IT TOGETHER YEAH

I never made an absolute list of things I want to do, but there are a few off BHC's list that I've thought about before, particularly...

Become decently wealthy and well known in what I do.
Provide for the world in the humanitarian sense, be in through charity or organizing.
Get a PhD or equivalent level degree (this is more short term)

I don't really care about becoming wealthy but I'd like to get to the point where I can do things like buy art/posters online without feeling guilty about buying non-food items I don't need. Having extra money to throw around would also help with giving to charity, which I did for a few months earlier this year. It was just small things but I liked doing it. I like to make things like blankets, so I would probably give to Project Linus (blankets for premature babies) or Afghans for Afghans, but blankets can be expensive to make.

PhD is definitely a goal. I'm hoping to get it in 4 to 5 years, although I have serious fears that I might not make it, e.g. "what if I don't pass qualifying exams?" or "what if I never get published" or "what if I totally suck at lab work?" And past that, I think it'd be cool to be a professor, but then I'm afraid that (1) I won't get a job (there aren't a whole lot of spots available), (2) I won't be good enough at getting research funding, and (3) I won't be good at teaching.

I'd also like to be able to contribute something useful (I also have a huge fear that I might end up wasting my time on a completely worthless project, or worse, accidentally make a bad decision that has really awful consequences).

And just a random thing... I'd like to start up a community garden when I get old. As in taking a run-down urban plot and turning it into a place where people can grow flowers and vegetables. I don't know how I'd do it, I just think it'd be cool :).

Getting married would be nice, but I doubt it'll happen so I refuse to make it a goal. Besides, I don't want kids, and nobody wants to marry someone who doesn't want kids.

I don't really enjoy traveling much, but I would like to go to Yellowstone someday (was there before and it was awesome). Iceland would be cool too.

Dude, how can you not be enthusiastic about strapping yourself to a massive, powerful ROCKET and blasting through the damn atmosphere AGAINST GRAVITY'S WILL to be mostly free of our planet and all of a sudden you can say "Dude, Earth is cool, but I checked out some other shit, and it was awesome too".

I dunno, man. Just doesn't phase me at all. It's odd, and slightly worrying I will admit, but when the subject is mentioned there is no part of me that thinks ''**** yes, space''

I mean, I wouldn't mind going obviously, but amongst other things... eh, it ain't up there in the top five. I don't know. I am so totally for a bathysphere to the bottom of the ocean, though. Hundred percent.

The main one would be to invent/develop/discover something genuinely useful in the field I'm planning on going into.

Other than that obv travel a lot, try the sports and activities I like in various nice places, all the usual stuff.

Travel across the whole of America with a friend
Learn to play the guitar
Make a decent movie
Visit Belfast and the NI coast
Visit Scotland
Visit Japan
Fire a gun
Prepare for and wait out the inevitable zombie apocalypse

The people are. The city itself is nothing special but it isn't particularly bad.

i'd also like to witness a volcano erupting so i can have someone take a picture of me pretending that the lava shooting out is coming from my bum.

I'd love to jump from a plane. Weather I died, though, is up for consideration. I'd rather live.

Semi-bump because I wanted to come back and give a real list.

Publish a novel (and write it too :p)
Skydiving
Get my pilot's license
Own a plane
Massive hitchhiking trip across America
See the world

More when I think of it...

What would you like to write Mr. Mystery Man?

I forgot a rather large chunk of stuff:

Read everything on my 'To Read' list (looking virtually impossible based on how fast it grows)
Play everything on my 'To Play' list
Watch everything on my 'To Watch' list

It would probably be about music education in public schools. I need to wait until I have a few decades of experience under my belt.

Of course, being a SUCCESSFUL music educator is imperative.

Fingers crossed.

I forgot to add that I wanted to someday witness and record a twister.

Well out of harm's way of course, then get the hell outta the way if it seemed to be coming my direction.
Also, not in my area where my home is too.

My life ambition is to complete tomb raider 3. Im stuck on the Pacific Island levels and refuse to use a walkthrough.
