wow james you brought back this old thread. Well advice on that tank...you dont need to blow it up, carry on through the tunnel. Avoid the rockets by shooting them down, and weave left and right dodging as much as you can. Then continue forth!

(btw that zoom with the magnum is good, but the hitboxes arent perfect on HL2 so have a high tendency to miss, its really hit or miss, literally )

thanks - any tips on dodging or is that about as hit and miss as the zoom?

Another tip - if you save just before the manned roadblock with the automatic ramps (highway 57 / sand traps), move forwards to trigger the combine into showing themselves. Reverse back and aim using the crossbow's crosshairs (not on zoom) at the soldier - aim a bit higher than him and the exquiset (poor spelling) physics of the game produce an arc which means you can use the crossbow at double distance!
