I've always been a big fan of the Sim City Games. I love em, when they're made well. The modification community for them has been fantastic as well.

I'm just kind of wondering if there will be a new sim city to come out, but am kind of doubtful it'd be anytime soon, since after all, sim city 4 was released so long ago in comparison to when most developers announce their next game in production.

Hrm. Anyone else hoping they come out with a new sim city game? If they do, i'm at least hoping they don't dumb it down! Grr. Dumbed down games are for morons, literally!

I'd like a new one, but I'm betting you're gonna get another The Sims game.

But you know what I really crave? Another Sim Copter!

Sim city games are not my fav by far, love the sims 2 (Sims 1 was crap) but anyhoo, I think there will be a new sim city game, but there going to have to do something very good with it, people wont be thrown with pretty gfx anymore, like in 3000 and 4000, where nothing really changed that much from 2000, which is still by far the best.

I've never enjoyed the first The Sims, so I doubt i'll enjoy the second.

Hate sims, love simcity :SC2K was my favourite, SC3K was more of the same, but no arcologies :(
SC4 was very interesting, I want to play rush hour but you need loads of free time to play SC4 and a well speced computer for decent performance in large cities.
It'd be good if they made a decent version of streets of simcity. Maybe they could use source engine?
I'm gonna play sc4 and rush hour when I have a bit of spare time after graduation.

The sims 1 was pretty damn boring, since the AI was shat you spent your time trying to prevent your sims pissing themselves. In the sims 2, they have very good AI, and so you work on other things (there wants, like buying certain things, reaching certain goals in life etc etc) its alot better, but if you dislike the whole sim thing, then ya.. gonna dislike sims 2.

I have my own life to manage! It's hard enough as it is making sure I get to the bathroom on time, eat on time, and don't start stinking up the place! Not to mention the trash, the neighbors, and hoping my stove doesn't explode in flames!

i'd like a remake of simtower : D

Oh damn dude, that game was AWESOME! I loved it tremendously! My whole family did. Got it when I was young, and my uncle and dad played it all the time. LOL

Simtower was awesome, they need to bring that back. As sad as it is, they will never do that as people will bitch about 9/11 (Yes itsa stupid thing to say, but people bitched saying Lord of the rings The two towers was eing mean to 9/11 peeps...)

Simtower should still come back, now I wanna play it, thanks alot guys :(

I know. I had forgotten about the game too <sobs>

And yeah, its stupid that it would be related to 9/11. You can't say 'building' without it being related to terrorists, bombings, and 9/11

Yeah that'd be totally cool.

I heard the simtower maker went on to make something called "Yoot's Tower" and it had multiple towers and skybridges.
I don't think it was released in this country either :(
Published by Sega I think.

If you're listening Maxis, make Simtower 2!

Don't want any of those rip off games, like Tower-Tycoon though.

And anyone that complains it relates to 9/11, they are obviously just finding excuses to complain about things. Interfering busybodies.

SimTower was Yoot's Tower, just repackaged by Maxis.

Yoot's Tower 2 is the game you are thinking of.

Simcity 3000 was by far the best one imo. Simcity 4 is good but it just slows down to a halt on my computer when the city grows. I can't stand it.

SimTower has to be one of my all time favorite Sim games! They could remake another SimAnt lol :).

Hmmm. Imagine if they made a decent SimEarth 2.

Anyway I want a simcity or simtower game.

No more sims though :flame:
I think they've milked it too much...unfortunately they won't stop making sims games because all those suckers buy them ;(

If they made a new SimTower I'd scoop it up right away. Infact talking about it makes me want to play the old one lol.

Personally I'd much rather play a Sim city game than The Sims.

I totally loved Sim City 3000 for all those little ministers you had and stuff, and if you did really good they'd give you a parade and stuff, it was so cool.

What the heck is SimTower though?

Simtower was... well, Simtower. You made a tower with restaurants and all manner of facilities, but for some reason the burger bars stick in my mind... I loved that game.

Sim City 2000 is my fave, Sim City 4 is neat but just didn't hold onto the magic for some reason.

Another thing that sucks about simcity 4 is the advisors. They are so annoying and are rarely ever helpful. Not to mention the crappy 3d faces they have. The advisors in 3000 were great and the faces were much nicer.

Agreed.

I swear, Sim Tower has the most closet fans.

Theme hospital was awesome +)

I liked simcity 2k, because it was fresh, original. Simcity 3000 was just a graphical upgrade, and they took away the arcologies ;(

Arcologies were really cool, but I see the problem, you could get a huge population through them.
I think they should bring them back, just maybe have more restrictions on them - ie not cost effective or something.

The good thing about simcity 4 is that you constantly need to spend money, you cant just sit on top of a mountain of $billions, which is unrealistic for any city.

I loved theme hospital too, and the animations were funny.
But there was that annoying bug where a room would lose it's door and people got stuck in the door.
Same kind of thing with theme park where they always used to get stuck in the fence. Hate those kind of major gameplay bugs which never got fixed.

I really liked simtown

NOT!

Anyway, I never really got to play Simtower or Simant... Wish I did though :|

The sims 2 was ok I guess, oddly, I don't see it being the next Simdirt ;) Simcity 3k is the best for me, gfx are not a major nessacity for me and the advisors actually helped and didn't so random anger fits similar to the ones in Simcity 4k (d00d, they dont even speak english... Just Simlish :|)

I was kidding about SimAnt the game was really terrible. You were either a black or red ant colony and you had to spread it around the yard. You'd get in fights with the colony of the opposite color. Every now and then the guy would mow the yard and ruin some of your colonies. It was pretty boring.

I want sim city 5. I have loved all the sim games except The Sims (1 and 2) and Sim Isle. I never understood how to play that game.

I loved flying round my SimCity2000 levels in SimCopter .... them two were the best maxis games ever.

If Maxis make a new SimCity, I hope it comes with some cool new SimCopter/Simdriving/SimBoating/Simflying/SimGTA addition packs :)

Is my idea crazy guys? Please... tell me!

I dream of a Sim City game, themed around military action similiar to that of a real time strategy game, but incorporating the aspects of citybuilding present in the current sim city games.

Don't ask me how something like this would be done, but I invision some day playing a game very similiar to the sim city games of today, with complex city managemant and building, trying to make it thrive, but all the while the world being hostile and unforgiving, with wars breaking out constantly, pitting cities against cities in civil war or other such event(sounds like a stupid premise, I know), forcing the city builder to also train police forces and military forces, both infantry and vehicles, as well as city defenses such as sam sites located in the city or atop buildings, to protect against missile attacks or airstrikes sent in from opposing cities.

Could even be set in the future, to allow more appealing means of conducting city defense, such as affording force field generators for particuarily important buildings to your economy, letting you choose what to protect at all costs, or what to risk being destroyed and rebuilt if it is.

Sounds really goofy, I know. But if it was done well, I would pay alot of money to play a game like this. It'd be like conventional RTS strategy, but with a more in depth city/empire building aspect of sim city, that would only add to the increased enjoyment, although undoubtedly increased complexity of the game.

Anyone play "streets of Simcity"?
It was a courier with weapons game that worked with sc2k like simcopter.
