When I ponder, I think about stuff that really stands out, such as the Batman franchise. How does a 30's Comic sensation turn into a laughable TV series? How does a corny, and, frankly, gay 60's TV series turn a bitter and dark story of Batman Begins?
With that in mind I wanted to take you into the Frnachise that is, Duke Nukem. With its beginnings coming from a 2D scrolling shooter and then with progression through technology, the Duke games have evolved from Duke Nukem 1, all the way to Duke Nukem 3D and beyond.
Things that have evolved:
from
Dukes one liner "I'm back!" (From Duke Nukem 2)
to
Dukes 1001 ripped-off movie one-liners
Medical pickups
to
Picking up atoms for an extra +100 health gain
With that set, it should be interesting to see how Duke Nukem: Forever would have progressed (That is if we ever get to play it). With dialogue becoming a priority for story development, it would be interesting to know how characters, as well as duke, develop the story. Will we be given the origins of how he became the Duke?
What are your ideas? Was he some sort of experiment, super hero, just some bad ass?
