For getting a good report card, my parents are letting me get one 360 game of my choice, and I picked Left 4 Dead. I was considering getting it for PC, but then I remembered my friend has the 360 version, so I could play online with him if I got the 360 version. Do you guys think this is a good idea, or should I get PC?

get L4D used on the 360 and buy another used game. IMo you can get 2 for the price of one

Well, if you want slightly larger ease of use, mods, and free DLC, go for PC.

The DLC is free for the 360 as well, plus it comes out at the same time as the PC. Go for the 360 version if you already have a friend playing it. You'll have alot more fun playing with a friend you know than with strangers. Don't worry about missing mods by the time Valve release the SDK we'll be on left5dead

It depends man, if you really want to play with your mate on 360, go for it. But I started on PC L4D with literally nobody on my friends list too, but that's all changed after a few months playing; now I've a whole load of jokers to play with.

If you have a good PC and can enjoy the game on very pretty settings (and you are familiar with PC FPS online play) then PC, otherwise for convenience / happy with xbox live / friends you already can play with, get it on 360.

The downloadable content will be free for either version so there isn't much between the two.

Yeah I'd say decide based on your PC specs. Basically, if you can run TF2 on high, you can run L4D on high with slightly more frames per second.

If I can run FSX on high, could I run L4D on high? I may just get one version for each once I have the money.

I noticed you said "Friend" for the 360. There are NUMEROUS people on hl2.net still playing this game regularly...I think you'll probably get more play time out of it on the PC. You can only play with the same one person over and over before the game will get redundant on you.

In the end, what do YOU think you'll play it more on.

PC. It's better maintained, with more frequent updates, it's got steam (does consol have steam? I'm 86% sure it doesnt. :|), and you'll find more freinds on steam community VERY easily. Trust us.

tell your friend you're having way more fun on PC. It's a bad choice anyways. AND ten dollars cheaper!

Most definitely get for the PC then.

edit: or get it on the PC later down the road I guess?

don't think, do, do it mother ****er. do it.

I found out Best Buy sells L4D PC about 20 dollars less than L4D 360. I'm probably going to be owning both, but it's just 360 for now.

I was in the same situation as you and started on the 360, my friends eventually but me the PC version as well though. I play it more often on the PC because I find that the players are much more fun to play with. i.e. they're not pre-pubescent kids screaming into their mics.

I still owe my dad some money, but once I pay it off, I'm getting L4D PC.
