...and getting Vista.

I've decided on Home Premium OEM, can pick it up for ?70, but not sure whether to go for the 32-bit version or the 64-bit version.

I have an AMD x2 CPU so could get the 64-bit version.

What's the best to plump for guys? Any ideas?

TAI ;)

With all the bad news on vista, I don't see myself getting it soon.

The only real issues with Vista currently are nothing to do with Vista itself but hardware manufacturers (especially nvidia) that need to pull their finger out and provide decent, stable drivers that don't offer severely neutered performance.

Well all I really use a PC for is internet browsing and the usual stuff. Got the 360 for games.

What I was asking is would it be a better choice to go for the 64 or 32 bit version?

64 bit will be fairly useless for some time to come, and driver support for 64 bit is even worse.

so then what do you need vista for?
Maybe he wants a more stable, more secure, and more efficient(in productivity and the OS itself)?

I'd honestly just get the upgrade version so you have both the 32bit and 64bit versions on hand. Otherwise i'd go with the 32bit version.

I've looked around but can't find where to buy an upgrade version.

Do you have a link that I can look at?

Cheers pal ;)
