Shodan said:Even when part of its soul is gone, it will never crumble into dust, it needs something that captivates people, that grabs their attention. All we have now is a few screenshots etc. We need something that gets us excited... thats how these forums started, people drooled over Hl2 screenies and videos, then were fed with tests and challenges, thats what kept everything alive, people using their skills in threads that reached over 20 pages, trying to work out passwords or games or cryptic clues, we loved it.
Problem now is, there are only people coming for help with the same old piece of game they're stuck on. I think Valve may have forgotten us, or they're too busy with episodes and new content and licences for people with brilliant ideas and imaginations, whatever the case, this forum is fairly dormant without the material to attract new people and most importantly, the people that make it all work.
Edits: Other thoughts on this, even though the mod community releases a few media things every now and then, there's still something missing that made this forum so exciting, maybe it was big feeling of anticipation for Half-life 2, or the Valve attention, I dunno...
Munro, of course.flycrusher said:Yes this forum looks like Ravenholm, some headcrabs crawling around, some zombie wandering while loosing body parts but who's the mad priest ??
