Steam erased my other games, I don't know how, I don't know why. But it happened. I had my games installed in D:\Games, I installed Steam there as well. After a dozen few attempts to download Cstrike and DoD, I uninstalled steam to reinstall it to see if it would still crash. I just went to check the file size of the directory and I noticed my games were missing. It plainly erased them, the games are still listed under add/remove programs... This isn't the first time this happened, back in open beta, when I uninstalled Steam it deleted my Halflife folder just for kicks. But it didn't touch the other games. I don't understand how such a thing could happen...

Part of the install it does ask if you want to keep your current HL folder or have it fully removed and 'STEAMED'. Could it be related to that?

Its pathetic isnt it... They should rename it to "Bombed" instead

I don't know zitbug, didn't notice anything like that. But I think it's better this way, it freed up 6 GBs and after a nice defrag my D: drive must be healthy and kicking : )
