Tony Snow: ?The Second War In This Country? Is ?The War On God?
Former White House press secretary Tony Snow is apparently attempting to remake himself into the image of Bill O?Reilly. In a series of recent public events, Snow has adopted the mantle of the right-wing?s perceived ?secular-progressive? war on conservatives.

Last Friday in an address to the Academy of Leadership & Liberty at Oklahoma Christian University, former White House Press Secretary Tony Snow launched a rhetorical broadside against college faculties in America and mourned this nation?s ?war on God.? Oklahoma City Friday reports:

The winsome and articulate Snow charmed his audience with wit:

?The average Iranian is more Pro-American than virtually any college faculty in this country.? And with serious talk about the war on terror and ?the second war in this country, the war on God.? [?]

Snow also said he loved being on a stage where he could say the word ?God.?

So calamitous is this ?war on God? that Tony Snow never once mentioned it from the White House podium when he served as Bush?s press secretary. The ?war on God? is no more real than the right-wing?s perceived ?war on Easter? and the ?war on Christmas.?

Appearing on the O?Reilly Factor last Thursday, Tony Snow endorsed Bill O?Reilly?s purported war on Christmas:

I don?t think they?re going to beat Jesus. ? You?ve mentioned the fact that you?re not allowed to have Christ at Christmas. I mean, I went to a Christmas store this week. It didn?t have anything about Jesus. It had all sorts of funny little ornaments in it, but nothing about the holiday. People are tired of that.

Being a phony champion for purported social conservative causes appears to be Tony Snow?s remedy for resuscitating his image following the Bush years.

Christians seem to have a "victim fetish", everything is a war on the poor Christian majority.

/mentally lowers dunce cap on Snow's head

I was wondering when Bill O'reilly would come out with his idiotic "war on christmas" show ..just for the lols and the finger pointing

they should fix the problem by renaming christmas to Annual Gift Giving Day ..it's not like Christmas was really the day baby jebus was born so who cares?

I think Ramadan needs to be made into a national holiday too.

Just like little baby Jesus emerging from a vagina, we can celebrate the arrival of that little baby Qur'an, which was probably conceived in much the same way.

Alright, so who is going to make the next thread on religion? Or should we just choose a forum member? Hmm.

What a pillac. How can these people come about in the most advanced nation known to man? Does the education system suck? Are they too brainwashed to know what they are talking about? Dammit, I want answers.

Perfect two for two.

The national spending on public education is a tiny fraction in comparison to the war funding. It's even worse in states with low tax income, stemming from either Republican financial policies or just a poor population. That, and the "No child left behind" thing really only focuses on test-taking and getting EVERYONE to the same, average, status quo. Not helping gifted but poor students reach their full potential.

Ever since the Bush administration reached power, they've manipulated television media in a fashion that would make Big Brother proud. That, and today's televised news is so vapid and desperate for ratings, it was child's play to feed them whatever stories the administration needed. For the longest time, they've kept at LEAST a slim majority believing in what the administration said. Chief example being that whole WMD shindig in Iraq.

Still, its important to remember we're looking at only 30 or 40% of the national population. Sure, they're loud and the media loves them, but not EVERYONE over here takes them seriously.

So a whole generation of ignorance has bred from a shitty education, and thus the kids buy into they're crazy parents brainwashing?

Shit.

BTW, I am not saying all of america's education sucks, or all americans are creationists, so piss off nationistic alarmists.

bwhahahahaaaahahaa.

thats a joke right? why would you compare school funding with war/military funding? thats like comparing how much you spend at mcdonalds with how much you spend on toilet paper. its not as if we are pouring any 'extra' money into the war, its funding, funding that happens in or out of the war. look it up. or do you mean that we should just drop the war and put all that money into the education 'system'? education is only messed up because of the things gvt has tried to implement into it. when will anyone realize that the gvt cannot be responsible for doing things? things only get turned upside down. i just cant wait for national health care and watching that fall on its face.

this is gibberish

The really funny part is that he ANSWERS his own QUESTION. I bet he doesn't even realize it.

I don't know how things are in South England, but the EU is pretty secular.

Yeah, the EU is much more secular. But USA is the superpower, its the richest, most industrial, etc. It'd be logical too assume the education would be better there and that idiots would be few and far between.

I spend much more on tioletpaper then I do at mcDonalds, and swedens education/miltary funding is pretty much the same and we have one of the better education systems in the world AFAIK.

thats great, and i dont want to take away from your point, because its good, but our lack of school funding is not because of military funding... thats what i was saying. im not saying we have a great education system in the US or anything, but its not real bad. a lot of real problems can be traced back to local governments rather than federal institutions. i was just saying its funny that its being related to 'the war' as if we are spending so much on the war that we are getting stupid because the schools are shutting down or something absurd. its just not true. thats the impression that i got, and it made me laugh. you might know that one of our states, Louisiana, relatively has a pretty bad education system. i can say with almost certainty that it stems from the crooked government practices and corrupt officials in the state, its not because of lack of federal funding. same thing with the hurricane bull from that state - but thats another topic.

im not saying im a Bush fan or anything, but America needs a better excuse than 'The Bush Administration' for all of its problems. im sick to death of everything being the presidents fault. its just a classic case of irresponsibility.

Well that certainly was more concise...

It slipped my mind that education was by state, and military was federal. Doi. And of course, you're right about pork and corruption being responsible for most of the education problem, as well as a whole slew of other things. Still, money for both institutions come from the same place: Citizen Taxes. Just like how paying for your food and paying for your toiletries still comes from the same place: your bank account.

So yeah, its a general American Politics problem that the education system in quite a few states is pretty bad. Not just the Bush administration.

Um, why not just leave someone else's Holiday alone?

Well, there kind of is and most of they're mainstream brought it upon themselves. Needless to say, Christianity has been poked and prodded at for a long time -- if people are sick of it, I'm not one whose going to deny them they're Christmas Beef.
