Remember, Valve wants a simultaneous worldwide release. That's a lot more copies at once than a normal "Americans first, then everyone else gradually" release. It might take a little bit longer to produce that many CDs.

Guys we should get the release date on monday, I dont think ive ever heard of a game going gold and them not knowing the release date on that day, normally they say "it will be on shelves on this day" or what not, correct me if im wrong.
