With all this chaos over the rights of the game and knowing how much money each side will make, this game has got to be THAT GOOD to be fighting down to this kind of level. We have a great games on our hands folks when its released

They're fighting over mostly HL1 related things at the moment but it's marginally spilled over to HL2.

There are court battles on this level all the time, specially between publisher developer. But I hope we do have a great game on our hands.

dont worry, im certain this game will change everything. even gravity. the physics in HL2 will be better than real life.

what their fighting for has nothing to do with how good hl2 is going to be...that doesn't even make sense. why would they be fighting about it being a good game?

lol I doubt it but It will be close.... Its using the Havok engine which has already been displayed in MaxPayne 2 and some others I believe. While still impresive it isnt new but definately better than any other game including doom3, halo, halo2, farcry etc

The bone structures is somewhat new tho and thats what I think is impresive.

They wouldnt be fighting for it if it was going to tank I guess.

No. Vivendi are afraid that Steam will steal a buckload of money from Vivendi and therefore Vivendi is using HL1 licensing as a tool to forbid Valve from using Steam. It is 100 % about the future cash cow HL-2, do not think otherwise.

They took Havok and overhauled it completely. It's a physics engine, if you didn't know.

Again, you could have just not started a thread with this statement.... and just posted it on the big ass thread already talking about it.

Entirely correct, which is why I'm closing.
