**** THIS - Tunnel of Death

Goddamn it I can't shake the heat, I hate this mission, there is always one like this in every GTA - steal the police van, ugh.

Any tips? It's only 3 stars as well I keep wrecking the van.

I failed the first try because of the RPG I fired got caught on the trucks front grill, thus boom. The second time I did it quite easily I recall - I outran them with no real tactics, I just gunned it down the straights and made sure I got rid of the pursuers by shooting out their tyres. Trust me, a chase comes to a halt dead quick if you just spray your uzi in the general direction of the cars tyres.

I didn't really want to kill the guy tbh, prefered to have shot Packie tbh.

I actually just did this mission like 2 hours ago (then I turned it off after the mission was complete).

I had to restart once because I flipped over the truck you have to block with while making a very sharp turn. The second time I did it very easily, I was out of the police zone before I even left the tunnel, actually. It was pretty easy, and that van goes pretty fast for it being a van, usually they are slow shits, this one had to acceleration..

And yea, it should have been a die or let go mission, I didn't really want to kill him (I wouldn't have killed Packie though, he's coo). It was still funny to shoot him in the forehead from point blank with the combat pistol though. I lol'd.

My tactic was simply to cross over to the other side of the tunnel and start driving the other way. I presume that, since I was ubderground, the choppers couldn't monitor me and the heat just lost track of me. By the time I emerged, they were gone.

I raced outta the tunnel, followed by slow driving throw small streets/ally ways.

Did you even have to get rid of your rating? I vaguely remember driving to the location with the cops still on my ass and getting one of those "they mysteriously disappear" things.

I did, made one turn and the cops were to close to slow down in time.
Just kept on turning onto a new street until I was out of the flashing area, flipped on the trucks sirens, and headed for the drop off point.

Yeah, I remember Tunnel of Death being pretty damn easy, one of the handful of missions I was able to beat on the first try from the Third Island.

I think i got lucky but i remember beating this in one try. not sure why your having so much trouble.
