This was how Half-Life 2 was advertised.

if it was in there, they'd be the option to turn it off obviously. so no point complaining about how most people wouldn't be able to run it so there is n need to put it in, because there are peopel who could run it fast.

I run the new crytech/ATI tech demo with HDR well on my comp ~60 fps .... on my 6800GT
I'm sure it would run well with HL2 too !

Yea there's wind in the game guys.... How do you think those realistic ropes move? They sway in the breeze.

Engine still supports it, so I'm sure a mod could be made :)

i love that effect, its great

but i wish i could feel the effect from the NPC's, maybe have them look down at the grown and shield there face with there arms while cringing.. that would have been nice

They made that video to advertise Source, their engine.

The reason why they didn't put it in, would be by my guessing, that they wanted to use the time they had to optimize the game for everyone, or nearly everyone than to use it on implementing features only 10% of their consumers could use. Sounds right, don't you think?

those scenes they took out will be in expansion paks for sure

Well, as the scenes that were taken out were just proof-of-concept scenes, it's unlikely they'll be in an expansion. 'sides, you'll note some of the scenes taken out are in there, just somewhat modified.
