Tim Burton's '9'

Gee I wonder what certain group of people are going to be all the **** over this movie.

Wow, that looks very very cool.

Looks excellent, and extremely familiar. Is this based on an animated short or something? I know I've seen those character designs before...

Also, trailer music was completely inappropriate.

Good save there. You came very close to being pleasantly surprised maybe.

I thought of Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet. For some ****ing unknown reason.

Looks pretty kickass. More excited for Coraline next year in the way of scary animated films.

Yes! I knew it. Loved that short, but it seems like a pretty flimsy premise to build a movie on, especially one with such an epic tone (which movie isn't though, for ****'s sake). I'll definitely be watching it though, even if only for the CG.

Looks like something that might warrant a DL...MAYBE a rent...I won't go pay 8 bucks for the theater, though.

Coheed and Cambria, Crispin Glover, Tim Burton...

This movie will be nothing but fat goth girl fapping material and another franchise Hot Topic can brand onto a t-shirt

****ing THANK YOU.

I was just about to post this lol. But I've been watching this all day. It looks so good both his animation and the movie

You just brought that to my intention. Why does Tim Burton have to do this? All his movies are gothic crap and Nightmare Before Christmas was probably his best thing. This movie does look good and all, but I don't want to see 9 and all the other characters on Hot Topic piece of crap shirts. Once that happens, people will start to dislike it.

I just found out he's doing an Alice In Wonderland remake.

The casting looks great, but I just can't stand how a Disney movie is going to be done in a gothic way (I'm assuming it will be like that with Tim Burton directing) I could be wrong, but I'm going to predict that it's going to be that way

Fuck guys, I'd like to be optimistic about what looks like an interesting CG film that doesn't deal with talking animals or pop culture references and has an intriguing premise, but my enjoyment of things is completely dependent on its fanbase. Knowing that this movie will end up on t-shirts worn by mall goths and fangirls who draw 9 fanart on their dA accounts totally puts me off on what might have been a good movie.

BTW, I am a gigantic tool. Please hump my rump.

Alice in Wonderland
I can't even bring myself to be sarcastic with you. Alice in Wonderland didn't start with Disney, you fool. Furthermore, many authors have reimagined Alice in Wonderland in a darker style; please see American McGee's Alice, Frank Beddor's The Looking Glass Wars, Alice 19th, Return to Wonderland, and The Puppet Show.

I know it didn't start with it, but most people know it as a Disney movie

If anyone out there believes that Alice in Wonderland is only a Disney movie they need to be hit with a flamingo mallet.

**** the haters. Looks neat.

Didn't like the song choice in the trailer though. I also dont like Coheed and Cambria so that may have something to do with it but yeah.

I like the Coheed and Cambria song, just the beginning though, if you listen to the whole song the singer has a high voice which is annoying

That song in particular I've actually come to like despite the singers voice because of Rock Band, It just dont fit with the trailer for me for some reason.

Saw this on Aintitcool. Does look interesting, though in some ways it seems like it's a shame that they've brought voices into it. When I watched the Short I felt there was something about it that reminded me a bit of Luc Bessons early post apoc film 'The Last Battle'

Either way, should be interesting, though I agree that Burtons involvement is rather worrying. The man has made some interesting films, but really needs to move away from being the King of Goth onto something else (Romantic Comedy, Disaster movie...anything that doesn't involve flouncing really), and Johnny Depp needs to do something with some real depth for once (again anything sans flouncing).

Am i the only one having difficulties entering this thread? I tried clicking that tiny tiny nine and missed it like 2 times.

That looks incredibly awesome. Bonus points for being created by Tim Burton.

saw the trailer before and I can't wait till it releases. Fortunately my life is going so fast right now it'll be right around the corner

Bonus points indeed. Although to be fair, Tim Burton, as well as Timur Bekmambetov (who made Wanted, Night Watch, Day Watch) are only the producers. This film really is Shane Acker's baby (his original short film under the same name was nominated for an academy award back in 2005... I'm gonna add it to the videos in my first post). But without Burton's backing, this film may never have been made.

This. Tim Burton is just the man whose made it possible to get the big screen green light. The original short was plenty good enough.

My anticipation for this movie just went up even more. Shane Acker did an incredible job with his short

I hate this thread title. There was another thread just like it some time ago, and just like then I had trouble clicking on that damn 9.

Just thought I'd share that.

Ah yes, I remember that. This is like the third 9 thread

Yeah, vBulletin won't let you search less than 3 letters or something like that, so searching up "9" would have come up nothing.

And I didn't see the other threads, so your sins are forgiven. Just this once.

Saw this trailer when it was 1st released and i seriously cant wait!
