hey how do u change the time of day in ur maps, i wanna make like a really dark night time map but i cant find how to do it... like if there were no lights u could bearly see if at all. someone has got to know, ive seen this thread in other forums but they didnt go anywhere they always seemed to get off topic. how do u do this?

Simple. Use a nighttime skybox and use minimal lights.

Whats a nighttime skybox? hav is like evening. which is night?

Try a navy blue light (env_light) and try a 2dskybox such as sky_day01_09 (Map>Map Properties>Skybox Texture Name)

Just light your map to look like nighttime instead of daytime. Take photo's outside every hour and then compare them to how they look to give you an idea of how you should light a map depending on the time of day/night.

You'd be surprised though what a difference it makes. Just the odd difference in light color, even just by a small amount can turn a good map into a very atmospheric map. Collecting references is always a good idea.

thats a really good Idea actually. I might try that out...when I get my digital camera.
