Ok I have no idea what to do here.
P4 2GHZ, 512 RAM, radeon 9600XT -- figured i'd list that for good measure.
This has been happening with all my games lately, started about a week or two ago. The game will pause for a brief moment, EVERY SECOND. It does this for about 5 minutes then goes away. But it is really annoying.
I don't know what to do, maybe there's something running in the background; I don't like stopping any processes because I'm not sure which ones are needed. I've run Adware and defragged both my HD's, with no avail. HL2 runs a little better cause of that but I still get that strange lag thing.
I know its not my graphics card because I have all settings low except for model and texture detail (high). When I'm not lagging (which is rare), I get around 60-100fps and I can walk around smoothly with no problems.
Anyone have an idea what this freakin problem is? It happens after every "Loading...", when I start the game. It will happen out of no where too. I know its just something going on with my computer, like its not running consistently.
